RESPONSIBILIITES

Specifically, the role involves:

- Supporting the continued rollout of Operations Risk Management Framework.

- Working closely with Line Management, Divisional Risk Management, and other areas of the Federation (e.g. Internal Audit, Compliance etc.) in monitoring and facilitating issues related to audit findings, and control failures.

- Proactively review current processes to identify and mitigate risk.

- Working with line managers and risk officers in reviewing key weekly processing risks and reporting to senior management. Perform in-depth analysis of exception items that are contributing to high risks.

- Conducting quarterly self assessments with the functional departments identifying key risks and controls and utilizing sampling to validate the effectiveness of controls.

- Evaluating the levels of adherence with risk management policies, principles, and standards. Ensure compliance with the “Operational Controls and Risk Management” handbook.

- Oversee departmental “health checks”; work with managers to ensure basic risk controls are being employed effectively.

- Raise staff awareness through risk training employing policy review and case studies.

- Perform incident reviews: work with line teams to identify gaps in processes to reduce the likelihood of incident reoccurrence. Ensure Incident Review policies are followed.

QUALIFICATION

- Minimum of 7 years of experience

- Demonstrates ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve most common problems that arise.

- Demonstrates ability to apply re-engineering methodologies to processes and execute solutions.

- Demonstrate ability to identify inter-relationships and understand the broad impacts of work and projects across the organisation, as well as to involve the right people, in the right way, and at the appropriate project stage.

- Demonstrates ability to drive project success and process efficiency as well as to secure cooperation from other areas as necessary.

- Possesses excellent communication skills.

- Possesses a good understanding of client types, relevant markets, products, processes, regulations and systems required to achieve business objectives.

- Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how Operations supports the business, how risk is managed and how controls operate.

- Proactively seeks and undertakes appropriate training to further enhance client / market / industry knowledge.
