VP -Manufacturing

We are having an opening for the position of VP-Manufacturing with one of our clients into Automobile industry based in Laksar.

Education-Bachelors Degree in Engineering or rubber technology with additional qualifications on Management (desirable) from.

Experience-15 to 20 years of related experience in manufacturing (Tyre) industry.

Job Responsibilities-

Key accountabilities:

1. Manage employees and hands-on operation of the company’s manufacturing function, whether in-house or sub-contracted. Should have hands on work experience in BIAS as well as Radial tyre manufacturing environment.

2. Ensure that as the company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness.

3. Work closely with the COO on manufacturing plans, goals and future product innovations.

4. Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins.

5. Plans, organizes, directs and controls the activities of the operation function of the Laksar Unit 2, 3 & 4. Responsible for the performance of all department functions.

6. Direct all production control, production process development and quality and safety systems for smooth functioning.

7. Manufacturing, MM, Engineering, P & P.

8. Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned output, budget spending, labour efficiency, material efficiency, engineering effectiveness, customer service and order entry efficiency along with manpower utilization.

9. Reviews performance against operating plans and standards, provide reports to subordinates on interpretation of results and approve changes in direction of plans.

10. Present monthly reports on performance.

11. Defines and recommends objective in each area of operations.

12. Develop specific long term and short term plans and programmes together with support budget requests and financial estimates.

13. Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, manpower and facilities requirement forecasts.

14. Co-ordinates and collaborates with other department in establishing and carrying out responsibilities.

15. Reviews and approves the setting of budget throughout the operation departments.

16. Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned objectives. Issues specific annual objective to immediate subordinates and reviews objectives of the operations management.

17. Directs, monitors and appraises the performance of the units immediately. Reporting and providing the necessary co-ordination between activities.

18. Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly and recommends compensation for them.

19. Maintain appropriate communication within area of responsibility.

20. Keeps employees informed as to Company/departments plans and progress.

21. Consults with all segments of management responsible for policy or action.

22. Ensures compliance within area of responsibility.

23. Makes recommendation for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures.

24. Reviews and endorses or revises budget proposals received from direct reports. Submit budget for assigned activities in accordance with budget procedures/guidance. Approves budget expenses as per the DOA.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Assumes Other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.

2. Provides orientation and on the job training for subordinates and ensures that the authority & responsibilities for each positions are defined and understood.

3. Ensures that duties responsibilities and authority & accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

- Experience in a leadership role of 5-7 years would be preferred.

- Should have sound knowledge/exposure to Good Manufacturing practices

- Experience in materials management from planning through purchasing.

- Sound administration skills, well developed management skills, principle &people.

- Experience in working an highly unionised environment.

- Proven ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability & growth.

- Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.

- Sound knowledge of MS Office. Working experience in a SAP environment would be an added advantage.
