VP Level - Big Data/Hadoop Architect - Bank

Our client is leading International Bank, their products and services include advisory, financing, prime services, research and analysis, securities services, trading and sales and transaction banking. They are looking for a new senior role into development, Owner of this role will be hands on technocrat would be responsible for team guidance, development and maintenance capabilities for the big data platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

- Manage and deliver core technical aspects of Big Data Platform

- Working on Big Data Analytics related development and delivery across the regulatory reporting and finance project areas for particular platform

- Help in onboarding of various systems and applications into the platform

- Understand the related business systems, workflows, data and reporting needs

- Fitting into and integrating with an established, complex Hadoop based project working to tight deadline

- Enabling the build of the target state architecture in time and quality to meet future on-boarding requirements

- Supporting specific source on-boarding activities in current state architecture in line with project delivery timelines

Good knowledge and experience of the following is required:

- Worked on Hadoop Eco system for 2+ years

- Hadoop software development using Map Reduce, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Yarn, Spark, HDFS, Hbase, Java, Linux Shell scripting

- Strong Java programming

- Experience in working as Technical Architect / Tech Lead for atleast 2 years

- Understanding of overall Big Data Analytics Landscape

- Familiarity with Spark, Storm, Shark, Python, R is an added advantage

- Ability to work with minimal supervision on own initiative and on multiple tasks simultaneously within an Agile/Scrum framework.
