VP - Legal & Compliance - Life Insurance - LLB

We have this opening with one of our esteemed client into Life - Insurance segment based at Gurgaon for the position of V.P. - Legal & Compliance.

Following will be the job - responsibilities of the desired candidate:

The position will manage and oversee the legal, and compliance functions within the organization and provide legal and compliance support to various functions, with a view to managing and mitigating legal, regulatory and contractual risks arising from the business and operations.

- Advise the management on legality of arrangements/proposals and also ensure availability of documentation restricting legal liability within acceptable levels.

- Provide inputs to business proposals to ensure legal, compliance and regulatory risks are restricted.

- Ensure accurate and timely reports to the regulator and maintain cordial relationship with the regulator to ensure smooth conduct of business.

- Manage and supervise the RC review and monitoring procedures including implementation of Group standards.

- Provide compliant workarounds to business proposals wherever required

- Ensure compliance risks are within organizational appetite at all times, and timely information is provided to shareholders and management so as to be aware of the risk level of the organization.

- Support the grievance management process by providing timely advice and guidance on resolution of grievances to Grievance Redressal Officer.

- Review all important and strategic business proposals/plans to ensure that the management is aware of the legal and compliance requirements and help mitigate risks.

- Engage with shareholders and distributors on various aspects of compliance matters.

- Lead the Legal and Compliance team by providing the requisite subject matter and management expertise required to turn around the functional responsibilities within the expected timelines.

- Promote collaborative approach to problem solving whereby the function appreciates business requirements and makes efforts to provide compliant and workable solutions within the risk appetite when faced with restrictions under the extant regulations.

Educational Qualification : LLB

Experience : 10+ years
