Role Description Summary

Extensive experience in the following technologies is essential:

Language:Java/J2EE with emphasis on frameworks such as Spring and EJB3;

Servers- Weblogic, JMS, IIS

Messaging: JMS, MQ

Database--Oracle, Sqlserver

Web Skills- HTML5, AngularJS, Javascript, MQ

OS: Unix, Windows 2008

This role demands that the lead acts as an expert and leader regarding activities to drive efforts in the definition and specification of technical solutions. The lead is responsible for day-to-day leadership of team work efforts in this area and/or serves as a senior subject matter expert providing support as needed in the transference of business requirements and functional specifications into technical specification. They must provide support as needed with Level 3 support and with problem/root-cause analysis.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Managerial

Ensure convergence with programme & business vision

Ensure technical requirements support the business strategy

Build consensus amongst key stakeholders for common set of requirements

Interface with internal/external providers to ensure successful development, testing and implementation of change

Communicate the new technology in common nomenclature for technical & non-technical audiences

Ensure migration from old to new technology

Supports the development of an environment where people management and development is the number one priority. Coaches direct reports and others in the organisation, as appropriate.

Actively supports the business strategy, plans and values, contributing to the achievement of a high performance culture.

Software Definition / Specification

Complete and elaborate technical software design (high level design) in accordance with solution designed by solution architect and documentation of the same.

Define the integration strategy (including rationale), integration environment requirements, and determine the product-component integration sequence

Identify the list of software product components which need to be integrated

Identify dependencies between software product components, between technical components (such as database tables and master data files), and between applications and interfaces

Assess and identify mitigation for risks including those related to high level design, integration, quality of data Identify the product integration verifications to be performed based on the integration sequence and relevant dependencies

Determine the impact on test or production environment (if any)

Oversee database & technical infrastructure

Oversee available technologies and utilities

Specify/select tools to enhance development process

Contribute to the definition of development and SW standards to implement/reflect the db guidelines (naming conventions, encryption, and security settings) and ensure standards are being adhered to.

Ensure architectural changes (as defined by architects) are being implemented

Evaluation of new products incl. prototyping (potentially on behalf of architects) - recommendation of new products

Level 3 support for technical infrastructure components (e.g. databases, middleware, user interface)

Contribute to problem and root cause analysis.

Experience / Exposure

Significant experience in one or more specific technical areas

Expert-level analytical skills

Excellent communication skills

Fluent in English (written/verbal)

Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix organisation

Excellent team worker

Education / Certification

Technical oriented certificate from specialized school

Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in an IT-related discipline (or equivalent diploma / work experience)
