Job Description - Head Legal Business

- Expert in negotiating, drafting, vetting, reviewing & finalising till the execution stage, various Indian/ International Agreements, Memorandum of Understandings, Letter of Intents as well as Non-Disclosure Agreements. Extensive transactional experience in negotiating, drafting, vetting, reviewing & advising on various commercial Contracts / Agreements, Interconnect and Roaming Agreements with various operators (with Indian & International Parties) & Contract Management.

- Providing transactional support in terms of negotiating, structuring, drafting, reviewing & finalizing till the execution stage, various Commercial Agreements, Distribution Channel Agreements, Agreement with Handset Distributors, Collection Agency Agreements, Agreement for Bill Pay Facility for Collection of Payments from Customers, Brand License Agreement, VAS Platform Services Agreements, Agreements for Celebrity Engagement, MOUs, Letter of Intents, NDAs, for Corporate Marketing PAN India transactions, from time to time.

- Possess the skill & expertise in identifying legal & business risks associated with contracts / Agreements & taking pragmatic steps to address, resolve & mitigate the risks, which pose as a hurdle in Agreement / Contract closure thereby adequately protecting Company's interest.

- Reviewing and interpretation of existing customer contract terms & conditions & drafting of customized contract addenda to modify existing customer contracts.

- Exercises good judgment in prioritizing and escalating legal contract issues, as necessary, while interfacing with senior management.

- Providing Legal Support to Corporate Marketing Team i.e. Brand Team & Consumer Insights Team, Value Added Services Team, Content Team, Short Code Team, Pre & Post Paid Teams, Data Team, Modern Trade Team, Terminals / Handset Team.

- Providing legal support to the Group & Corporate Brand Team on various IPR related issues including infringement and Passing off action.

- Counselling & educating the Marketing Team on laws related to the Contract Act, TRAI Regulations, Legal Metrology Act, Consumer Protection Act, and other Commercial and Industrial Laws.

- Provide legal opinion pertaining to the Telecom Policy, Consumer Protection Act, and various circulars, notifications, guidelines, orders issued by TRAI from time to time.

- Deal with matters related thereto, validate and vet marketing plans, promotional activities, Contests Terms & Conditions, etc.

- Advising the business from time to time on various legal requirements and matters relating to interpretation / construction of laws and documents. Providing legal advice and opinion on a variety of queries raised by various departments of the company pertaining to the day-to-day operational issues.

- Advising Management on various legal requirements and matters relating to interpretation / construction of laws and documents.

- Providing legal advice and opinion on a variety of queries raised by various departments of the company pertaining to the day-to-day operational issues. Summarized and communicated legal concepts for use by business people.

- Coordinating with the NHQ and Regional Litigation Team with necessary inputs to safeguard the interest of the company on business and related matters.
