Position: Planning & Reporting Finance Manager (VP/GM Level)

Reports to : Financial Controller – Planning & Reporting

Job location : Bangalore

Total Exp with Qualification : CA with 1st or 2nd attempt (with 8+yrs of experience) / ICWA (with 10yrs with core financial controlling) / MBA[finance] from T1 Institute.

- Companies / Industries to be looked at FMCG preferably .

Skills required:

- We need the candidate who has strong experience in Financial Accounting and Actual reporting

- He/ She needs to be responsible for Actual reporting, performance management, stakeholder management

- Should have experience Financial Controlling.

- Should have a good experience in Forecasting, Financial Planning, Actual reporting, Large team handling experience and core Financial Accounting.

- These candidates can be termed from Reporting Manager / Management Accountant/ Financial Controller

Responsible for:

- Supporting the Controller in setting up and managing the delivery of the ES&IT financial actual and forecast information, for Trade, Capex and RDI.

- The consolidation of costs and Forecasts and then the production of Management information around them.

- Day to day management of Planning and Reporting Team(P&R) and the relationship with the Operations team, to ensure delivery of reporting requirements.

Key Accountabilities:

- Supports the Organization by compiling, validating and reporting on forecast information and actual costs.

- This position is critical due to the complexities of the organization in terms of direct managed, locally controlled and pass through costs.

- This position interacts within Finance teams across all organizations, most of which are mid to senior Management level.

- The main purpose of the job is to consolidate forecasts and actual of Trade, RDI and Capex costs across the Globe. Agree these on a monthly basis with the Central Unilever team and Controllers, and then report and validate these costs. Putting in place standard processes and procedures as identified and driving standardization in the output.

KEY DELIVERABLES/ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Actuals

- Consolidation of all Costs.

- Key contact and liaison with Corporate and Country Finance contacts.

- Apply best practice & consistency where appropriate across all countries for financial processes & management information reports production.

- Responsible for ensuring that reporting data is validated and sense checked, with key variances identified and verified.

- Review and management of corrections and exceptions processes.

- Act as advice point re reporting queries across the Globe from controllers and Finance contacts

- Delivery of accounting information and consistent reporting standards and process for Portfolio and Project reporting..

- Drive Rigour in enforcing standard processes adherence.

- Ensuring the delivery of Accounting Treatment harmonization.

- Advice and guidance to the Business Partner’s / business on best source of reports…..i.e. Crystal, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint etc…

- Delivery of accurate & timely spend reports for communication.

- Review and challenge ongoing reporting processes.

- Working with the Controllers to ensure that the reporting processes are optimal and that standardization in the reports is delivered.

- Develop standard monthly reporting and presentation packs along with a catalogue of non standard quarterly/annual reports.

- Delivery of agreed and approved adhoc information requests

- Manage and Communicate Reporting Timetable

- Lead year on year financial restatements for Actuals and Forecasts.

Forecast

- Consolidation of all Forecasts.

- Key contact and liaison with Corporate and Country Finance contacts.

- Development and Implementation of Standard forecasting model.

- Responsible for ensuring that reporting data is validated and sense checked, with key variances identified and verified.

- Act as advice point re reporting queries across the Globe from controllers and Finance contacts

- Delivery of accounting information and consistent reporting standards and process for Portfolio and Project reporting across.

- Drive Rigour in enforcing standard processes adherence.

- Review and challenge ongoing forecast processes.

- Working with the Finance Business Partners & Controllers to ensure that the forecast processes are optimal

- Delivery of any adhoc Information Request

- Manage and Communicate Forecast Timetable

- Manage Forecast Model for.

- Communicate Forecast updates to the community

- Communicate Forecast updates to Corporate and Controllers

Other

- Direct line Management of P&R work level 1’s.

- Day to day relationship with Operations

- Management of transfer of report requirements.

- Understanding of MU Victory Model, leading collection of hierarchy requests.

- Drive effective reporting structure in Victory, covering, MU’s, ICC’s , LCC’s, functions etc

- The candidate should come with 8+ years of financial accounting/planning experience, strong project management, computer database experience and superior communication competence.

- In addition to strong accounting and finance technical skills, the incumbent will also have strong interpersonal and business partnering skills which are critical in this roll which interfaces heavily with finance managers.

- The use of financial information to facilitate timely and accurate decision making and proactive customer solutions.

- Must be able to analyse financial data, prepare, communicate and influence others relating to analytical findings/recommendations.

- Providing internal customers financial models to assist with the decision making process.

- Must be able to deal seamlessly with changing priorities and/or tight deadlines.

- Information used by this position requires crossing multiple systems/software (SAP, Excel, BCS, Crystal, Cognos, Colon etc…)
