We are looking a candidate with exposure of FCC ( financial crime & compliance) within Investment Banking with a superior management and stakeholder management skills to manage the various personalities on the ground. Preference is someone that has an existing relationship with RBI and/or SEBI. It would be great also if the incumbent has managed change successfully as well. Can be from Regulatory, Compliance or Risk background.

Eligibility -

Require 10+ years exposure

Must be a VP / higher designation with current organisation

Financial crime and compliance exposure, must have a compliance, regulatory background

Should NOT BE INTO OPERATIONS/ AUDIT/ ASSURANCE

Should NOT BE WORKING WITH SHARED SERVICES, LOOKING FROM BANKS only

At east 6 years of relevant CDD and AML track record including CID and/or AML Advisory and/or experience with conducting, leading investigations and dealing with law enforcement; For ENOs, preferably 2 years of similar experience;

Part of AML experience would need to be within the Private Banking space.

Solid knowledge of India AML/CFT laws and regulations including that of the PMLA and those promulgated by RBI and SEBI and international AML standards (FATF, Wolfsberg). Additional awareness of regional rules would be beneficial;

Experience in dealing with the regulator, auditors would be desirable;

Accounting / Business / Economics / Finance Degree.

Overview of the department

The Financial Crime Compliance (- FCC- ) function is responsible for advising the business on the appropriate standards for compliance with the applicable AML/CFT laws, rules and regulations, advising on higher ML clients and transactions, providing training and monitoring of client activities as well as performing the necessary controls testing etc.

Roles -

The role will be focused on the execution of the Financial Crime Compliance Program across all businesses (Private Banking and Investment Banking) in Mumbai, especially around client identification as well as monitoring of client activities.

- The individual would be part of a wider team that will need to ensure the applicable internal standards and local Mumbai AML/CFT laws and regulatory requirements are duly and effectively implemented in the business. The individual will be required to work closely with the business to identify AML/CFT risks and fostering a culture of compliance within the company

- Review customer identification files and ensure all accounts satisfy the required standards. Liaising with the business as required. This is a core function of the role and provides support to the Private Banking and Investment Banking business.

- Provide AML compliance advisory support to the Mumbai business and supporting functions on rules and regulations, clients, transactions as well as guidance on AML policies and procedures;

- Undertake investigations into any suspicious transactions reported by staff, alerts from the AML monitoring solution (Mantas), production orders, regulatory requests and any other external triggers, etc. Where a suspicion is formed, support the MLRO in drafting the appropriate Suspicion Transaction Reports;

Ensuring ongoing monitoring tasks such as CL Search, Fircosoft are appropriately dealt with;

- Performs appropriate controls testing include sample testing or review of exception reports to ensure the AML Program, controls and processes are in line with expected program standards;

- Represent AML as needed on various Change-The-Bank or Run-the-Bank projects as needed;

- Identify, coordinate, undertake or lead projects as needed to improve process and application of AML Compliance's policies and procedures;

- Remediation of any findings issued by Regulators or Auditors as needed;

- Produce content, presentations and responses to regulatory or internal requests as needed;

- Provide management with sufficient, frequent and objective information to get an accurate picture of the ML risks the bank is exposed through its activities and individual business relationships;

- Provide AML input into the design of new business, products, services or delivery channels;

- Provide training to new joiners or staff;

- Ensure any emerging trends or relevant control issues are escalated to the regional FCC and local senior management;
