JOB TITLE - Credit Derivative Trade Management Team- Vice President

BUSINESS UNIT - Derivative Operations- Bangalore

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. Alongside this vital service delivery role, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.

Operations span all product lines and markets, serving as internal business partners who develop the processes and controls, and help to specify the systems that deliver accuracy, timeliness and integrity to our business.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

Credit Derivative (CD) Operations sits within Derivative Operations and supports trading and sales personnel across multiple products and regions. The CD Flow Operation team, based in Bangalore, manages the post execution processing of Derivative trades across products such as CDS, Index, Mortgage & Loan CDS. The current Bangalore functional footprint risk manages the Confirmation of deals and Settlement of cash flows generated through execution and life cycle events. It also performs Middle Office Functions which look to reconcile our trading and risk systems with our Operations systems.

The team acts in partnership with a wide variety of groups across the firm globally with daily interaction with the wider Operations teams, Trading, Technology, Legal and Finance. Operations are heavily involved in new product initiatives and process improvement to streamline our support model. The teams are also fully engaged in Industry initiatives that are taking place across the OTC Derivative market as well as the execution and implementation of regulatory reform requirements. Credit Derivative Operations plays a central role in ensuring 'our client' retains their position at the forefront of this industry on upcoming initiatives.

The role gives plenty of opportunities to work in a large and high-profile team and to drive 'our client'’ external and internal standing in the CDS market. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is motivated, ambitious and excited about contributing to our business and, as part of a global team who are responsible for driving change within a demanding and complex environment, there is much opportunity to gain significant exposure to senior managers in all areas of the firm.

RESPONSIBILIITES

- Risk mitigation, ensure the risk in 'our client's outstanding portfolio of trades is effectively mitigated and controlled.

- Close interactions with senior experts from various different teams and regions including 'our client' sales/trading, Technology and Compliance to resolve outstanding issues. This role will involve a large amount of facilitation and negotiation.

- Participate and lead discussions in ISDA Working Groups to establish greater standardization in the Credit Derivative market.

- Actively work with the global team and management to achieve both industry and internal targets.

- Establish, manage and own close relationships and partnerships with business partners, external clients and regional stakeholders. Be an escalation point of contact.

- Develop a vision and implement strategic changes to re-engineer processes and reduce risk surrounding Flow CD Operations.

- Provide thought leadership to the wider team both locally and regionally and oversee implementation of creating efficiencies within the team to support regulatory changes as well as new client and business requirements.

- Ensure processes and systems are continuously reviewed and improved, risk is managed and results are achieved within the team that adhere to expectations around timeliness, quality and cost effectiveness.

- Conduct a complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a seasoned and detailed understanding of the processes and system used in the department.

- Develop plans to retain and grow talent.

- Lead the implementation of organization wide initiatives and projects.

- Participate and drive the recruitment process

SKILL / EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY

1) Strong numerical, analytical, technical and problem solving skills.

2) The role is client facing therefore will require strong communication skills and the candidate should be highly articulate in the English language.

3) Extensive people management experience or excellent track record in leading teams.

4) Attention to detail. Demonstrates a willingness to deep dive into an issue or problem to establish and address root cause.

5) Drive and motivation: successfully handles and prioritizes multiple tasks, takes initiative and leads to improve own and team’s performance, works intensely towards extremely challenging goals and persists in the face of obstacles.

6) Strong team player- effectively collaborates with others both locally and globally.

7) Creativity/Innovation- leads by example to challenge status quo and looks for new ways to improve current processes and procedures. Develop creative solutions that are grounded in reality and have practical value.

PREFERRED

1)Evidence of experience working within Financial Services with exposure to Over the Counter Derivatives.

2)Microsoft packages such as Excel & Outlook.

3)Demonstrates a minimum of 5 years experience in Banking or a similar environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

1) Degree educated, preferably in a numerical subject. Post Graduate qualifications also preferable.
