VP- Decision Analytics

Basic Function: Co-lead a large Risk Management Centre of Excellence for Banking Client focusing on the Bank’s retail businesses. Expand footprint of the Banking Analytics capability.

Essential Functions

1. Manage a team of 120+ FTE to include talent recruitment, training, up-skilling, career development and building optimal team structure / functioning

2. Engage with senior banking executives to understand their problems and develop compelling analytical solutions

3. Engage in business development to grow the banking analytics capability at COMPANY including supporting sales efforts to prospects, existing customers and cross sell to other COMPANY clients

4. Act as Risk Management SME and ensure that COMPANY keeps up with advances in risk management and risk analytics

Technical Skills required:

Statistical Modeling, SAS, Excel & PowerPoint

Process Specific skill Required:

1. Risk, Marketing & Collections Analytics in the credit card and retail banking domain

2. Key role in recruiting & developing talent in banking analytics

3. Project Management and managing cross functional teams

4. Developing business development & solutioning proposals

Education Requirements

1. IIT-IIM: IIM class of 2001- 2004; IIT or top tier engineering college class of 1999 – 2002

2. ISI Class of 2000/2001 (B.Stat and M.Stat)

3. DSE Class of 1999/2000

4. MBA from top Ivy league US Schools with Undergraduate degree in engineering, science or any other analytical subject

Work Experience Requirements

1. 9-12 years of experience in Management Consulting or Leadership position in captives / shared service centers for large global banks.

2. Should have reported to MD if working in a Bank or handled CXO level client relationships if working in a consulting firm

3. Should have hands-on experience in programming / performing analytical tasks including exposure to statistical modeling during the first 2-3 years of his / her career

4. Should have worked on > 1 retail banking product – credit card, loans, lines of credit & mortgages

5. Should have led cross functional projects which work across client organizations

6. Should have led a team of 20+people performing analytical tasks / statistical modeling in the banking domain. Must have experience in hiring talent, developing it and then ensuring comprehensive delivery to the satisfaction of senior client or senior bank executives

7. Preferable if the candidate had spent 1-2 yrs onshore in the US / UK / APAC market to –

a. Understanding the Banking industry in those regions

b. Get exposure to senior stakeholder management and navigating client organization

c. Understand cultural nuances which impact client management & their needs
