Position : VP- Compliance

Reports to : Compliance Head

Key Responsibilities:

The function assists the Compliance Head in providing overall Compliance support to all units within the organisation from the perspective of local regulations and Firm policies.

The key responsibilities are as below:

- Assisting the Compliance Head in providing compliance support to the activities.

- Ensuring effective Compliance oversight on all activities carried out by the team.

- Providing advisory on regulatory requirements and Firm policies to the business units.

- Monitoring and testing the activities of the units to ensure that the units are complying with regulatory requirements and Firm policies, and maintaining a record of such monitoring and testing.

- Tracking changes in the regulatory requirements in the organisation and informing concerned units promptly. Also updating the RRI / RRM of the organisation.

- Ensure that new hires are given training on the Compliance policies and procedures. Maintaining a record of training. Attending to regulatory queries and reporting.

- Work closely with units and Control functions to identify potential issues and take prompt corrective actions. Escalate potential issues to senior management, as appropriate.

- Ensure that the RRIs, RCSA and other monitoring / testing programs / processes are carried out effectively within Compliance.

- Engage in reviewing new business initiatives and activities, and also periodic review of the activities of the units.

- Assist Compliance Head in achieving goals set for India Compliance.

Knowledge/Experience:

(What knowledge or experience of the role or the industry does the individual need, e.g. relevant work experience, industry and/or product knowledge)

- In total 10-15 yrs exp. The position requires 4 - 6 years experience of working in the Compliance / control function of banking captives and reputed outsourcing organizations. A person should have knowledge of SEZ/ Infosec/ STPI requirements.

Skills:

(What specific technical skills does the individual need and at what level, e.g. specific IT /spreadsheet /analytical /modelling skills)

- Sound knowledge of the working of the banking / KPUs.

- Understanding of the regulatory framework in India and corporate laws.

- Ability to identify issues and to take corrective actions

- Sound leadership qualities

- Sound communication skills

Competencies

(What competency skills sets does the individual need e.g. organisational skills, planning, resilience, motivation, teamwork, verbal communication skills etc)

- A keen analyst and ability to quickly gauge impact of regulatory changes.

- Ability to offer practical solutions within the regulatory framework.

- Sound inter-personal and communication skills

- Ability to understand potential issues and quickly take corrective actions.

- Very sound knowledge of MS Word and Excel
