VP - Business Planning & Analysis - Investment Banking

Vice President : BP&A : Investment Banking : 12+ yrs : Chennai (12-20 yrs)

Required :

- Currently should be an VP working for top investment bank

- Should be working with CEO, CFO and global level stakeholders

- Willing to relocate to Chennai

Examples of recent work include :

- Co-ordinating the analytics and business papers for the Group CEO performance cell reviews in December

- Providing the financial modelling for the Structural Reform view of the MTP

- Working directly with Group CFO/Deputy CFO/Head of BP&A on financial scenarios for the Group MTP

- Performing interim BP&A services for Corporate and International division

- Responsible for end-to-end execution of performance cell reporting. Receive process design from onshore team and carry out the process, including co-ordination of AVP resources in Chennai and New York, engagement with businesses to ensure submissions are delivered on time and accurate, review of submissions for accuracy, and preparation of output slides for distribution

- Responsible for end-to-end execution of legal entity planning and forecasting. Receive process design from onshore team and carry out the process, including co-ordination of AVP resources in Chennai and London as necessary, engagement with businesses to ensure submissions are delivered on time and accurate, review of submissions for accuracy, and preparation of output data for distribution to downstream processes, in particular Tax and Treasury Capital Planning

- Responsible for end-to-end execution of Competitor analysis, in particular the half-yearly Competitor Board reports. Receive process design from onshore team, and carry out the process, including co-ordination of AVP resources in Chennai, review of data input by AVP for accuracy, preparation of output slides for use in Board report

Principle stakeholders : Director of Technical Analytics team in the UK; Group BP&A Planning and Reporting teams; Cluster BP&A teams; other Group functions such as Group Treasury and Group Tax

- Line management responsibilities of 2 resources in Chennai but with added expectation that candidate will provide day-to-day co-ordination of an AVP resource in New York

- Role requires being able to execute processes, with decision-making and problem solving required when for any particular reason process steps need to be amended mid-cycle to accommodate changes in dependent processes / timelines / business delivery

Requirements :

- Excellent project management and process execution skills

- Ability to build relationships with teams who provide submissions

- Enjoys working with data and systems

- Good knowledge of regulatory capital as well as financial accounting

- Experience of process execution

- Strong academic background

- Qualified chartered accountant or CFA

- Financial planning & analysis (either at Group or business level) or audit experience with financial services preferred
