Position - Vice President – Business Development
Department - Corporate
Reporting to - Group Managing Director / Chief Operating Officer / Head – Operations
Objective:
The Vice President - Business Development will hold the complete responsibility of sales & business development for all the business verticals of the company. He / she will contribute to the growth strategy of the company by actively participating in shaping the strategy and take complete responsibility in developing the business development competence & structure within the company. He / she will manage & supervise strategic customer account relationships and actively engage in developing the key customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Functional Responsibilities
The candidate will hold the overall charge of Sales & Business Development for all business verticals.
Sales Performance
- Responsible for achieving sales targets for existing customers and targets for new customer acquisition.
- Identify new customer accounts and developing them.
- Ability to analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs), produce a high level summary and quickly provide a snapshot on the proposal requirements to the technical team.
- Managing pricing decisions for all customer accounts: Develop pricing strategies, balancing MDS objectives and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise & manage the complete sales cycle including preparation of Service Level Agreements and marketing collateral, business brief etc.
- Business Planning & Sales Forecasting
Customer Account Management
- Strategic Milestones in relationships
- Contribute to delivery solution design and development.
- Assess operational issues with regards to competitiveness, staying current in terms of current trends and innovations.
- Managing dotted line relationship with onshore & offshore customer support team
- Customer P&L management
Team Management
- Developing key competencies for Sales & Business Development.
- Develop the business development organization structure and recruit key resources to manage the function.
- Training and Development of the sales & business development resources (onshore & offshore)
Product Development
- Create marketing campaigns for new products and services including budgeting and expenditure planning.
- Business vertical development by benchmarking competencies with the competition
- Responsible for overseeing the production of brochures, Catalogs and other print materials as well as electronic materials.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring
- Develop and institutionalize sales & business development performance monitoring mechanism
- Monitor, review and report on all sales & marketing activity and results to management
External interface:
- Manage all non-customer external interface including representing the company at Industry Exhibitions & Fairs, Industry Forums etc.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Engage in Strategy Visioning for the company and contribute in developing the growth strategy for the company
- Work with consultants for Strategy, Branding, Communication, Human Resource search etc.
- Participate in the M&A efforts and identify targets for acquisition which will complement the existing competencies of the company.
Job Specifications:
- Candidate must be an experienced senior manager, strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and outstanding past credential in sales and business development.
- Minimum 8 years of managerial experience handling business development role in a multi business, cross border, multi location IT / ITES business.
- Knowledge of business development in Publishing Outsourcing, Packaging prepress, Gaming & mobile applications will be an added advantage.
- Ability to identify and develop new markets.
- Should possess excellent strategic & tactical decision-making
- Should have demonstrated leadership qualities and managed a business development team.
- Ability to plan and successfully implement Sales and Marketing strategies.
- Should possess good PR skills for Accounts Handling and Relationship Building.
- Candidate must possess excellent skills in oral, written and power point presentation communication.
- Candidate should be self motivated and approach challenges with a can-do attitude and ability to think outside of the box.
- Candidates must be willing to work at odd hours, suitable to client's time-zones whenever required.
Qualification/ Preferred Knowledge:
- MBA in marketing from a reputed institute with proven marketing and business development exposure.
- Good understanding of the Premedia and New media Business.
- Knowledge of Publishing outsourcing, Gaming and Mobile apps and Packaging industry is highly preferable.
