VP/AVP - Research & Development - Electric 4 Wheeler

Overview: The Vice President R&D - Powertrain and Energy Storage and Management will lead the research and development initiatives for electric vehicle powertrain and energy storage solutions. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, ensuring product excellence, and aligning R&D activities with the company's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategic Leadership: Define and implement R&D strategies in line with the company's vision and objectives.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of R&D activities with overall business goals.

- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in the EV powertrain and energy storage sectors.

- Product Development: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization.

- Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining the highest standards of quality and performance.

- Collaborate with the manufacturing and quality teams to ensure smooth transition from R&D to production.

- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

- Ensure adequate resources, training, and tools are available for the team to succeed.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with suppliers, partners, and other external stakeholders to foster collaborative innovation.

- Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and other relevant events.

- Budget Management: Develop and manage the R&D budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

- Monitor and report on R&D expenditures and ROI.

- Intellectual Property: Oversee the protection of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure IP protection and compliance

Qualifications:

- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Minimum of 20 years of experience in R&D, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Proven track record in the development and commercialization of EV powertrains and energy storage solutions.

- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
