VP/AVP - Balancesheet Reconciliations - Captive

Hiring for a MNC captive for the role of VP/ AVP - BS reconciliations

- Manage operations BAU for a team size of 20+ across multiple location

- Provide strategic direction and manage multiple Business Partner relationships.

- Very strong ability to prepare organizationally and operationally for growth in size of department/responsibilities

- Driving change and strategic initiatives to realise Business Re-engineering

- Ensure high quality of output is delivered e.g. financial data in the reports etc is accurately and correctly presented

- Continuous review of processes with the objective of improving the service delivery timeframes and identify areas of improvement

- Responsible for leading & motivating multiple teams/processes with accountability for Business Service Delivery parameters

- Lead the Balance Sheet Reconciliations process for the region and all legal entities within that.

Ensure all accounts are understood and independently substantiated

Product and review the ARCC certificate. Be able to explain all exceptions to the Biz CFOs and work in partnership to resolve

Define the operations Risk framework for the process

Drive performance to agreed service levels and manage customers- expectations in a timely and professional manner

Establish and maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism

Drive performance in team to required standards.

Maintain high level of employee engagement.

Effective communication with team members on organisational strategy and goals required for respective roles and responsibilities.

Create an environment within the team which fosters free sharing of knowledge and ideas

Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls and compliance requirements. It is imperative that the role maintains a highly effective SOX-compliant control framework.

Operational capability must be maintained all year round given the frequency of reporting periods (monthly plus additional requirements quarterly, half-yearly and annually).

The role will need to manage accordingly to ensure that sufficient numbers of capable staff are in place to deliver to reporting requirements.

Continually assess the operational risks inherent to the process, taking account of operating procedures, staff movements, legal & regulatory requirements

Any process re-engineering must comply with the applicable control environment

Ensure BCP plan is documented, agreed with Business Partners and tested for all the processes as agreed

Lead Transformation and Integration Initiatives

12+ post qualification experience in Financial accounting space. Degree in accounting domain (CA/ CPA/ ACCA/ others)

Experience in managing large (25 +) teams in speacialised functions

Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply and succinctly

Effective leader who can manage cross functional teams

Knowledge in Marcos, MS Access Database, SAS will have an added advantage

Change and transformation experience will be a plus

Experience that demonstrates ability to deliver BAU and Change/ Transformation Projects

Experience in policy interpretation and implementation

Previous tenured employment with a Financial Institution will be a plus

Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization

Working/detailed knowledge of Operational framework/rules

- General Accounting knowledge i.e. Accounting Principles, Book Close etc.

- Past functional experience in Reconciliations: GL, Inter-company and in depth knowledge and understanding of Business Planning process.

- Knowledge of Inter-Company Operating Plan, Billing and Invoicing process will be added advantage
