VP -Analytics – Information Management

- Analytics CoE provides support to various business groups and the job involves data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, reporting and data management. It forms the information basis for strategic planning by the senior management for businesses and enables effective decision making to satisfy business needs and requirements along with addressing unforeseen challenges.

- The role supports various functions including Data Management, Business Intelligence Reporting and Infrastructure This role will be in a team that is expected to design and develop Information management solutions which will help business drive informed decisions. The incumbent would be required to support various group entities and business geographies, as required

- This position involves people management responsibility for 25-50 FTEs.

Projects and analysis

- Develop a deep and thorough understanding of business knowledge across a breadth of functional areas.

- Ensure seamless delivery of deliverables across all teams in the function/ region.

- Maintain, develop and enhance relationship with business partners in the region.

- In-depth business knowledge across a breadth of functional areas. Apply knowledge gained in one area to another.

- Ability to analyzes complex information and identify the most relevant details

Service Delivery

- Takes ownership to effectively manage the service delivery on all engagements for business unit within regions that meet strategic and tactical objectives.

- Communicate information in a timely fashion.

- Able to distinguish between critical and less essential information.

- Recommend and implement infrastructure efficiencies.

Drive growth in new regions

Operational Effectiveness & Control

- Develop plan to implement project vision.

- Recommend and implement infrastructure reporting efficiencies.

- Identify, research, and resolve complex data reporting issues..

Support and execute cost improvement strategies.

Leadership & Teamwork

- Regional lead across regional portfolio/Functional lead (COE) across multiple regions.

- Develop and maintain relationships and work well with all levels of management.

- Establish trust and credibility with senior executives.

- Ability to influence and negotiate across all levels.

- Uses networks inside and outside the business to provide support in delivering goals

- Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles.

- Ability to motivate to drive high performance

Education / Relevant Experience / Other Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience within the Information Management function. Experience in financial domain preferred.

- Experience in managing and leading large established team.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Masters degree either engineering or business preferred.

- Strong understanding of data infrastructure and ability to drive efficiencies and changes

- Ability to synthesize large volume of data to present this information in reports

- Ability to provide tailored consultative service to customers- probing for understanding and providing advice

- Seeks continuous improvement by considering solutions that make novel use of existing ideas, approaches, technologies or products

- Knowledge of in any one or combination of tools such as SAS, SQL, JAVA, Cognos, Actuate, DB2, Oracle, across any of the platforms UNIX, mainframe or Windows

- Established organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
