Role : GM Cloud Operations

Function / Department : Technology

Location : Mumbai

Job Purpose :

Take end to end ownership of Cloud infrastructure deployed across pan-India and ensure 100% availability for all its tenants. Continuous optimization of the cloud infrastructure to ensure efficient utilization of the cloud resources. Stay abreast with new cloud technologies and ensure seamless introduction of the same in the network. Identify areas for introducing automation for improving operational efficiency and reduce overall cost in terms of OPEX and CAPEX.

Key Result Areas/Accountabilitie :

- Manage lifecycle of the all cloud infrastructure and suggest possible changes in the architecture for continuous improvement in cloud service.

- Ensure optimal performance of cloud resources to prevent performance issues and wastage.

- Proactive trending and forecasting of cloud resources to ensure utilization of available capacity.

- Adequate planning of resources, assigning permissions and roles while on-boarding of new applications on cloud.

- Ensure up-to-date documentation of each cloud deployments that specifies all the building blocks of cloud and operational specifications such as disaster recovery, integration with surrounding ecosystems, performance and monitoring tools etc.

- Develop automated monitoring tools for root cause analysis, logs and event correlation solutions, enrichment and pre-empt countermeasures to avoid incidents.

- Track release cycles of all software updates, firmware updates, security patches and ensure the cloud infrastructure are updated with latest software releases to maintain vendor support.

- Prepare cloud release plan with compatibility matrix and roadmaps to ensure inter-operability with deployed cloud infrastructure

- Track release cycles of all HW deployed in the network and ensure timely, seamless migration of services onto new installations.

- Regular audit and review of the cloud infrastructure and recommend changes in the cloud infrastructure.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, Experience :

- Strong understanding of the cloud concepts and related technologies

- Understand the intricacies of each vendor product deployed in the network

- Training and certifications in relevant cloud technology (Private/Public/Hybrid cloud)

- Experience in handling LIVE operations to judge given situation and take appropriate decisions

- Knowledge of automation tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet and scripting language like Python or Perl for orchestration & automation

Must have technical / professional qualifications :

- Hands on experience in handling open source cloud infrastructure

- Deep technical knowledge of open stack components and building blocks

- Planning and design concepts of openstack environment

- Experience in handling life cycle management of openstack Preferable certified in 110 and 220 of REDHAT cloud
