This role is with a leading kitchen appliance company, based in Chennai, India. The incumbent will take initiative in a constantly changing work environment and be a generalist with a do-whatever it takes mindset. He / She would will own the supply chain process, and work with a continuous improvement mindset. The single most important objective of the logistics manager is to provide consistent, cost effective and transparent logistics solution to the company. He/ She will continually improve the systems and processes, and work with data to monitor network performances and design new solutions, to maximise cost efficiencies. RESPONSIBILITIES - Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution. - Lead warehouse planning, design and warehousing management - Primary & Sales Supply management - Inventory management with best in class practices - Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers. - Develop material costs forecasts or standard cost lists. - Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load, unload, move, or store materials. - Negotiate prices and terms with transporters or freight forwarders. - Appraise transporter ability and delivery fulfillment through regular reports and checks. - Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities. - Constantly update supply chain practices in accordance with new policies, standards, regulations, or laws QUALIFICATIONS - Relevant degree - General Management, Logistics or Consulting experience - Demonstrated record of leading large team, hiring and nurturing talent - Exposure to large scale logistics setup (FMCG / Food / FMCD) is preferred - Excellent data analysis, data interpretation and first principle problem solving approach - Good written and verbal English communication skills
