Sales Development Representative ( 1-3 yrs USA Sales Experience) - VideoKen is looking to hire a Sales Development Rep (SDR) to join their growing sales team. An SDR is the first voice of the company to potential customers. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities with e-Learning Organizations, Educational Institutions and Corporates in USA by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers through various channels. - Once a prospect has sufficient interest and wants to explore our solution, you will introduce them to an Account Executive (AE) who will be responsible for handling that relationship until they sign a contract. When in-person conferences start again, you will have opportunities to travel to USA and represent the company. - Our ideal candidate is early into their career (&lt; 3 years' experience), is confident, can communicate clearly, and has a passion for sales - Please be aware that the only market you will be selling into in this position will be the US. So you are expected to be flexible and open to Working during US hours - 4 PM to 2:30 AM IST (approx.) Responsibilities: - KPIs - Number of sales qualified leads (SQLs), $ pipeline created. - Reach out to decision makers at relevant e-Learning organizations and Corporates in the USA using various outreach methods including emails, phone calls and LinkedIn. You will be provided with a list of organizations/contacts to reach out to every month. - You might also be required to create your own database of potential customers and contacts to reach out to. - Your primary responsibility is to engage those people, understand their needs, provide them helpful information and handle that relationship until they are interested enough to explore our solution. - You will also be - Required to chat with website visitors occasionally to answer their questions and convert them into qualified leads. - Use CRM (Zoho) to maintain and report on your activity and outcome metrics. - Participate in regular meetings to share progress, identify blockers and improve performance. Loves to meet new people and build relationships. - Pays great attention to detail, loves taking notes and maintains discipline with CRM. - Willingness to take feedback and learn new things quickly. - Highly motivated to work at a scaling startup. - Exploring relevant sales opportunities beyond monthly lists (prospecting, making connects) What will a typical quarter look like? - At the beginning of each week, you will work with your manager to analyze the results of your outreach during the previous week and understand what worked well and what didn't. You will also learn from the results of other SDRs. - You will also then identify which list of organizastions/contacts you will be reaching out to that week, and what the messaging will be. - You will typically be working on engaging about 300 - 400 organizations each quarter. - On a typical day, you will spend 2 hours writing and responding to emails that you would have received, 2 hours calling/connecting on LinkedIn, and 2 hours adding new people to your outreach. You will roughly spend 1 hour per day on meetings with the SDR team and the larger sales &amp; marketing team. What will make you successful in this role? - Discipline - The most successful SDRs are very disciplined with their day-to-day activities. Ensuring you are making enough calls, sending enough emails, LinkedIn connects is half the battle won. - Persistence - The quality, consistency and frequency of follow-ups after initial outreach separates the average SDRs from the best. - Articulating value prop - You need to prospect. - Competitive and like to win - You want to win and are willing to work hard to get there. You are open to learning from others that are succeeding. - Objection Handling - You need to be able to hold natural conversations while handling objections that prospects share with you. How will we set you up for success in this role? - We will provide you with detailed training to give you a head start into the world of video-based learning. We- ll also talk about the competitive landscape, provide you access to many recorded conversations - , emails, and existing marketing materials. Our CRM is a treasure trove :) - We will provide you training as well as resources to learn SDR best practices in SaaS. - We will provide you a playbook of how we do things currently. This includes how to use the CRM (Zoho), call scripts, and email templates. - During the first 8 weeks, you will shadow your peers and manager on emails and customer calls. You will also be involved in role-plays with current sales team to prepare you better for the actual calls. - You will be involved in regular 1:1s with your manager to discuss feedback and scope of improvement, apart from regular mentoring by the rest of the team and CEO.
