Process Overview :
- The FAKC (Finance and Accounting Knowledge Center) was set up in 2007 as a part of the CFO Global Delivery strategy to provide offshore delivery to Line of Business and Enterprise Finance functions. The capabilities hosted include Accounts Payable, General Accounting & Reconciliations, Management Reporting & Analysis, Research & Analytics, Financial Transaction Processing, Finance Systems Support and Supply Chain Management.
- Over the years, the scope of FAKC has been expanded to include operations for other enterprise control functions like Human Resources and Risk and Compliance.
Job Description :
- Individual will be part of the FAKC team and will work towards developing/managing offshore U.S. tax compliance and reporting for the organization with the ability to provide support and oversight of process improvement implementations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax accounting, reporting and compliance functions.
Responsibilities :
- Experience managing a large team of tax professionals executing upon the following deliverables (not all inclusive) :
- U.S. federal pro-forma returns to be included in a large consolidated group as well as separate 1120s, including International forms such as 5471s
- Related State income tax filings including both combined or consolidated returns and separate state filings
- Related state activities such as apportionment, federal to state modifications, and notices
- Timely filing of quarterly estimated payments and year end extension payments
- US GAAP income tax provisions prepared in accordance with ASC 740
- Analysis of effective tax rate (ETR)
- Current and deferred tax assets and liabilities including current payable analysis, deferred tax roll forwards and tax basis proofs
- Tax attribute carry forward schedules
- ASC 740-10 (FIN 48) reserve analysis
- Return to provision reconciliations
- Interim and annual US GAAP projections/forecasts
- Ensure audit ready documentation is maintained for all federal and state tax filings
Requirements :
Education :
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, Masters in Tax highly desired
- CPA
Experience Range :
- 15 years of of U.S. tax reporting and compliance (including U.S. federal, state, and international) with a U.S. based multinational organization with mature U.S. tax compliance and reporting operations in India or with a U.S. tax practice of a major accounting firm
Mandatory skills :
- Experience in developing/managing an offshore U.S. tax compliance and reporting organization with the ability to provide support and oversight of process improvement implementations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the tax accounting, reporting and compliance functions
- Technical U.S. tax expertise and experience in U.S. GAAP tax accounting (ASC 740)
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in order to engage with management located in the U.S. effectively
- Ability to manage issues and projects across tax functions
- Ability to communicate complex financial and process-related information to management
- Ability to manage multiple complex tasks toward completion at the same time
- Ability to effectively manage and develop a team of tax professionals
- Ability to manage a large team challenged with aggressive tax compliance and reporting calendars and ensure timely and accurate completion of all deliverables
