Vice President - Research & Development - Manufacturing Industry (12-15 yrs)

Company Brief: This position exists with one of our esteemed clients. They offer products and solutions in cooling and heating.

Role & Responsibility:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the feasibility of innovative concepts related to Application Engineering.

- Assess the commercial viability of proposed ideas, considering cost-effectiveness and market potential.

- Take an active role in the detailed engineering phases, contributing to the development of new products.

- Collaborate with engineers and designers to turn concepts into tangible product designs.

- Generate innovative ideas and concepts to enhance existing products or create new ones.

- Plan and execute experiments to test hypotheses and gather valuable data for product development.

- Utilize hands-on skills to construct functional prototypes that validate the feasibility and functionality of product concepts.

- Iterate on prototypes based on testing and analysis.

- Collect and analyze data from both controlled laboratory experiments and real-world field installations.

- Be prepared to travel to field locations for data collection and assessments.

Educational qualifications:

M.E. (Mechanical / Chemical) from reputed institute. Thermal Engineering background preferable

Skills Required:

- A solid track record of 12-15 years in the field of research and development.

- Extensive hands-on experience working with HVAC products.

- Proven expertise in product design, failure analysis, and the application of statistical methods.

- Strong knowledge of thermal engineering principles.

- Familiarity with electrical controls, electronics, software, and IoT technologies.

- Proficiency in managing end-to-end R&D programs, encompassing planning, execution, and resource allocation.

- A comprehensive understanding of the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept to field trials, and the associated requirements.

- Knowledge of intellectual property protection processes and product certification standards.

- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for clear interaction with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

- Proficient use of MS Office tools for documentation, data analysis, and reporting purposes.
