We are supporting the leading investment bank based in Bangalore to fill their regulatory function mentioned below :

The Finance Calculation Independent Review (FCIR) team is focused on independent assessment of key financial calculations across the entire firm. The team engages in review of calculations implemented in areas relating to regulatory submissions (e.g. 10K/10Q, FR-Y9C, FRY-14A), product valuations, capital calculations, forecasting methodologies, CCAR and other high priority processes across all lines of business and corporate functions. The role requires a good understanding of finance, accounting and risk concepts, technical knowledge to review various tools/formats, and analytical skills to challenge the conceptual soundness of methodologies applied, and to identify gaps/areas of potential improvement in calculation processes.

Job Summary:

As a member of the FCIR team, the individual will be responsible for conducting reviews to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of key financial calculations implemented in various User Tools (UTs) / applications (i.e. MS Excel, MS Access, VBA, SAS, Matlab, R, Python, Eview, etc.). The reviews will be performed across all lines of businesses and corporate functions, covering high priority areas such as:

- Regulatory Capital/RWA Calculations for Basel

- Valuation of financial products for price testing and/or fair value adjustment

- External financial reporting (e.g. 10K/10Q, Footnote disclosures, Call Report and FR Y9C)

- CCAR/DFAST and internal stress testing

In addition to the review role, the individual will be responsible for collaborating with other review functions in high priority reviews. The individual will also liaise with technology teams to develop tools for streamlining the review process.

The position involves interaction with many teams across finance and risk, lines of business (front/middle/back office) and reporting groups. The ability to work efficiently and communicate effectively across these boundaries will be one of the keys to success. The role and responsibilities of the successful candidate will be determined based on qualifications, prior experience and demonstrated skills.

Core Responsibilities:

- Lead various FCIR reviews to ensure high quality and timely delivery

- Liaise with various groups across the firm to define scope and manage engagements

- Report and present status to various stakeholders and leadership on a regular basis

- Review and challenge financial calculations in various UTs /applications in high priority areas

- Understand methodology used in the financial calculations and its broader impact / contribution to the firm's overall finance / risk framework

- Evaluate appropriateness of the assumptions and methodology utilized in the UTs/ applications and identify the errors and potential improvements in the calculation processes

- Document the findings and socialize the findings with relevant stakeholders

- Perform peer-reviews for quality assurance purposes

- Work with technology teams to develop tools for enhancing review effectiveness and efficiency

- Partner with other review functions on high priority reviews and ad-hoc requests

- Stay abreast of regulatory and industry developments pertaining to finance / risk / accounting
