Vice President - Quality Assurance Testing - BFS

Responsibilities :

- Manage a team of quality assurance professionals, in a high pressure environment. Monitor their performance, conduct regular feedback sessions & manage performance appraisals

- Active participation in preparing test milestones, engaging with stakeholders at the initial phases of the Release life cycle & providing required guidance to the team in test planning

- Ensure team has clear understanding of business perspective of any release and engage with different stakeholders/ teams to clarify questions and challenges

- Guide and mentor the new hires to bring them up to speed

- Perform review of Test Strategies, Test Plans, and Scripts based on analysis of business requirements

- Monitor team's participation during design reviews to ensure test feasibility and provide required guidance

- Perform reviews of the work completed by the team.

- Identify ways to measure & monitor the tasks undertaken by the team. Present findings in an apt manner to senior management

- Partnering with other/non-risk QA teams to ensure a comprehensive test approach is planned

- Interfacing with key stakeholders (Quality Assurance, Project and Risk Managers) - providing testing status on a regular basis

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent is required

- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

- A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in team management including performance management, coaching & mentoring.

- Preferably have exposure to Quality Assurance initiatives.

- Ability to assess risk and determine appropriate work coverage

- Banking or Finance domain exposure will be added advantage

- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Testing Methodology, best practices, and associated testing tools (ex ALM)

- Exposure to technical languages such as SQL, VB Scripting would be an advantage

- Experience with business rules engines and validation of rules is a plus
