Brief about our client:
This mandate is for one of our esteemed clients, who had founded this company more than 1.5 decades ago. It is a listed company. They are engaged in manufacturing and distribution of Premium LED Lighting. With a passion to set high standards of the products, the management has always taken measures to scale up as and when required only to deliver the best. Year on year, they have got many awards. The company provides lighting solutions to many retail brands and their showrooms. As of now, it is a growing company having couple of good projects in hand. They have got manufacturing units in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
Job Purpose
This position exists with the objective to -
- lead and manage complete Factory Operations for the company
- own P&L for the Factory Operations
- lead and manage Factory wide improvement initiatives
Job Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution:
S1. Assisting the President Operations and Managing Director in his / her work related to Factory Management.
S2. Making a strategic Plan and Budget as per the annual organisation goals. Forecasting and procuring the requirements accordingly.
S3. Work with all departments to prepare and execute procurement and manufacturing strategy
S4. Identify the gaps and prepare and implement the required action plan to bridge it.
S5. Regularly Review team performance and provide feedback for improvement.
S6. Conduct and document annual performance review
S7. Prepare and implement disaster plans beforehand.
Management and Administrative:
M1. Supervise, Control and manage all Factory departments and their entire functions.
M2. Manage the day-to-day operations; coordinate these activities by means of team effort with direct reporting and possess all related legal, statutory and regulatory knowledge.
M3. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
M4. Assign and prioritize projects, track progress towards completion
M5. Manage project budgets and prepare financial analysis reports for the management team.
M6. Determine and prioritize capital equipment and other expenditure requirements
M7. Set reasonable and achievable goals and expectations and allow department the freedom to partnership in their attainment
M8. Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
M9. Manage and Solve grievances and problems of internal and external customers (client, team, vendors) in related matters.
M10. Select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, mentor, counsel, and discipline employees.
Design and Development Responsibilities:
D1. Evaluate and resolve technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues
D2. Provide technical expertise for manufacturability, product cost, workflow, quality & safety
D3. Assist in review and approval of product designs
D4. Analysis & Rectification of errors related to product manufacturing and assembly
D5. Ensure product testing, certification and compliance
Quality and Improvement Responsibilities:
Q1. Establish and maintain Organization level Quality Culture and Quality System
Q2. Review & provide training & development as per requirement to increase level of competence, productivity, quality
Q3. Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 requirements
Q4. Mentor and train team in Quality Systems & Processes wherever required.
Q5. Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality and cost through maintaining profitability and competitiveness
Q6. Improve operational quality results by studying, evaluating, and recommending process re-design; implementing changes; contributing information and opinion to unit design and modification of teams.
Vendor Management Responsibilities:
V1. Plan and organize material from key vendors to meet the requirements based on customer orders
V2. Qualify and approve new parts or products from new or existing vendors
V3. Assist in negotiating with vendors to develop tools and purchase parts
V4. Authorize purchases of parts, products and equipment
