Job Description :

Title : VP (Operations)

- Our client is a start-up Organization, promoted by a large business group.

- Currently operating a local language and local content Portal, and in the process of launching a APP in 12 Regional languages

Description :

- VP Operations is a Sr. Management role. He/ She would be involved in the strategic decisions pertaining to the content which should be displayed in the mobile application/website etc.

- The person is expected to manage team of editors across multiple Indian languages. He/ She is expected to set guidelines so that the highest quality content is sourced and rendered through the application.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Reach leadership position in its domain by ensuring Content that connects And Present high quality relevant content to the Users

- Getting tie ups with relevant publishers (Media & Print partners, Websites etc.).

- Manage the team of assistant editors of all vernacular languages.

- Train the team and establish benchmarks for the team to capture and present articles.

- Analyze Users and improve the quality of presentation on a regular basis.

- Use of new technology, implement ways to increase readership and how to utilize the new medium of communication.

- Quality control (both authenticity and relevance of the article), language (grammar and content flow) and aesthetics (images, sound, audio and video) of the articles on the application/web site are of highest standards.

- Lead all the key meetings with external content partners.

- Protect the interest of the Company from potential libel or slander or copy Right related issues when a discretion is applied in displaying content from a specific source

Preferred Skills :

- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.

- Understanding on Mobile Apps & Website related technology like search engine optimization, AdSense, optimizing Advertisements etc.

- Knowledge of wide range of topics including - news, entertainment, women, health, education, children, games etc.

- In-depth understanding of the company's current products and future concepts.

- Willingness to learn and grow as per the changing times and technology

- Budget-management skills and proficiency.

- Professional judgment and discretion that comes from years of experience in the field.

- Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.

- Fully aware of all current laws and regulations relating to journalism, copyrights and intellectual property laws

Qualification and education requirements :

- Experience as an Editor in print/ digital companies that are primarily into content/news/entertainment creation or aggregation is must.

- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related field is preferable
