Role Overview
- Reporting to the Business Head of the channel, this role is a key leadership position within the channel.
- The incumbent will perform a pivotal role in building and shaping the channel's brand positioning and defining all marketing strategies across internal and external stakeholders.
- An integral part of the team, the incumbent will need to work closely with programming to identify the USPs in-line with the overall channel positioning.
Key Responsibilities :
Overall :
- Spearhead the entire marketing portfolio for the channel
- Responsible for the reach numbers for the Channel.
- Ensuring and constantly monitoring the business landscape through key metrics. Provide inputs for prioritizing markets, target segments, and Content selection framework
- Develop Marketing / Brand strategy for the channel in conjunction with Programming head for the Channel
- Drive the engagement and communication strategy in digital and social media platforms through online contests and other forms of engagement
- Spearhead the development of a strategic brand framework, brand architecture, manifestations, and experience.
- Build a deep consumer connects in the overall brand and communication strategy in-line with individual character propositions for brand stickiness and brand/character/loyalty.
- Work closely with research for qualitative and quantitative feedback and incorporating the key elements of ATL and BTL marketing strategies
- Work closely with internal sales and distribution teams for brand alliances and trade marketing initiatives
- Build and execute a comprehensive PR Strategy and dovetail it with other marketing initiatives to drive perception and recall of the channel and its properties.
Financial
Budget Management - plan and administer the marketing and research budget to achieve maximum impact
Ensure consistent growth in viewership thru increased slot reach and engagement with content
Customers :
- Effective management of external agencies & partners - Research, Creative, Media, Outdoor and BTL agencies Liaison with internal stakeholders - programming, sales, distribution team
- Provide leadership to internal team and external agencies- media, creative, PR- drive synergy for a cohesive communication output
- Drive innovation as the core of the brand while engaging with core viewers
People :
- Build and sustain a high-caliber team with a winning edge and monitor performance
- Ensure an appropriate environment where people feel empowered to contribute and feel rewarded for the same.

Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Min. 12 years of relevant work experience of which at least 5 in a leadership role. Prior experience of handling a large portfolio is essential.
- MBA from a good B School preferred
- A principle-centered marketing leader, with a passion for content, great people skills which encourage empowerment and prudent risk-taking.
- Good understanding of consumer behavior and ability to capture consumer insights into relevant marketing initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with effective organization and planning capabilities
- Self-starter with bent for analysis and problem solving
- Team leader with good interpersonal skills
- Understanding of the genre and the TG.
