Vice President - Manufacturing/Plant Operations

This role would be the most challenging assignment to oversee the entire gamut of manufacturing excellence and innovation to drive the existing process to next level for optimum utilization of resources effectively and increase qualitatively superior output to balance the market demand.

The following would be the major expectations and initiatives desired from the candidate:

The main objective of the role would be to : Extensively handle Production, Assemblies, Press Shop,CNC Machines Shop,PPC, Maintenance, Process re engineering and enhancements.

- Lead and involve directly in execution of World class techniques such as TQM, Kaizens, Lean 6 Sigma, Quick Response 6 Sigma, Resource Optimization, Value engineering and conversion cost productivities with an eye cost maximization.

Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

- Share a trusting relationship with work group and recruit, manage and develop plant staff.

- Develop systems and processes that track and optimise productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

- Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.

- Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.

- Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

- Remove production constraints; Monitor and allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.

- Work with purchasing manager to develop and improve supplier relationships,and drive the execution of localization.

- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.

- Lead change initiatives.

- Foster good management and labour relationships leading to a harmonious work environment.

- Collect and analyse data to find places of waste or overtime.

- Commit to plant safety procedures.

- Liaison with the our union workforce force and negotiate union contracts as needed along with HR dept..

The Desired candidate who would fit into this role should possess the following credentials:

BE - Production / Mechanical engineer with additional qualification of MBA with specialization in Finance would be desired.

Having proven experience of over TWENTY YEARS in highly demanding Manufacturing process and good exposure and expertise to the following skills is a MUST:

- Working experience as a plant manager.

- High calibre Leadership / Sr. Level Managerial experience.

- Previous experience/ Adequate knowledge of business, management principles, budgeting / expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.

- Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional

Lean,TQM and TPM etc. to drive improvement.

- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise

- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.

- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.

- A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.

- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment.

- Highly motivated, results oriented, driven.

Since this position is highly demanding to bring in new innovation, yet without coercing the present work morale would require a balanced approach to devise and implement CHANGE MANAGEMENT.
