Designation / Position :- Vice President Legal

Location : Kolkata

Job Requirements :

- Candidate should have relevant work experience of 20 to 30 Years out of which last 5 years with any Huge Group as Head of the Department.

- Prior experience in handling legal matters related to different aspects of the Company with primary focus on billing of energy meters, supply of electricity, pilferage of electricity with respect to both HT & LT consumers and property disputes Arbitrations to name a few.

- Obtaining all clearances & Licenses under various acts & rules / authorities for setting up / running the project & factory viz. MOEF Clearance, Consent to Establish / Operate from Labour Directorate, Commissioner for Workmen's Compensation, Factory Directorate, Chief / Jt. Chief Controller of Explosive, District Administration, District Industry Centre, Land Dept. & Local authorities viz. Panchayet, Municipality etc.

- Experience of Heading legal department of Power/Energy companies will be preferred.

Role

- Provide leadership and ensure efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the Legal department.

- Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.

- Review progress of outstanding litigation and liaise with and manage external lawyers.

- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.

- Review contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.

- Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.

- Answering the queries of the Regulators

- Attend Appellate Tribunal and CERC Hearing

- Coordinate with Lawyers at the time of appearing before the Tribunal

- Coordinate with Lawyer in hearing before CERC

- Periodic review of core operational processes to ensure compliance with state and central regulations.
