Position: VP - IT Platform Engineering (Leading MNC IT Captive)
Role:
- Hands on leadership and end to end ownership of leading and delivering platform and products by leveraging modern technology stack (Microservice, Cloud, DevOps)
- Strategic Thinking - Develop vision, objective, strategy, and initiatives to achieve organizational goals
- Think through global people implications and develop plan to effectively manage change impacts.
- Establish and implement standards, best practices, and ongoing governance.
- Think three to five years ahead into the next business cycle.
- Uses diplomacy and tact, balanced with a sense of urgency to move projects and decisions forward.
- Build alliances with and establish communication bridges with staff, other business units, management, external partners, and customers.
- Develops an explicit understanding of which relationships are most important to the organization and its stakeholders and builds a network prioritizing these relationships.
- Manages in a matrix organization and uses influencing skills to promote strategic plans.
- Develops and maintains a complete and comprehensive set of operational metrics across 4 dimensions (project health, operations, risk and financial) to communicate meaningful information that can be used to inform critical business decisions.
- Develop and inspire a world class team of engineers and technologists fostering the highest quality talent while scaling to meet business challenges
Requirements:
- 20+ yrs experience in progressively increasing software engineering and management roles with experience building and delivering enterprise software platforms
- Strong grasp of modern software engineering principles and practices with track record of rolling out transformational change in organizations
- Deep experience in developing scalable and cloud native applications using emerging technologies, architecture principles
- Experience leading globally distributed, cross-functional organizations and operating in a matrix environment.
- Experience working on low latency, highly scalable, critical systems.
- Advanced knowledge designing for performance, scalability and availability
- Understanding and appreciation for Test Driven Development and Test Automation
- An agile mindset with experience in startups as well as large global enterprises
- Experienced in defining and delivering metrics to drive outcomes and measure progress
- Delivery of M&A including due diligence, rationalization, and integration
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to Develop vision, objective, strategy, and initiatives to achieve organizational goals
- Ability to identify actionable business outcomes while anticipating workforce needs and human capital growth.
- Results-oriented; passionate about achieving strategic goals in established timeframes.
