Vice President - Financial Accounting/Control/Reporting - Securities/Broking Firm - CA (8-12 yrs)

We have been retained by our client, a well-established, professionally managed securities and broking house, an affiliate of a foreign bank to identify a Vice President (Financial Accounting, Control and Reporting). The position will be based at Mumbai.

Job Purpose :

- To manage timely & accurate closure of monthly financial statements with all the required checks and controls with regards to Balance Sheet, P&L, Trial Balance and ensuring compliance of group accounting policy, including local reporting as well as group reporting under IFRS and IGAAP

- Interfacing with Statutory/Internal Auditors for timely/smooth audit execution and delivery. Drive follow-up actions for resolving/addressing audit issues

- Actively participate in the development and preparation of the cash flow/cost initiative plan through the development of forecasting and budgeting, working closely with key internal stakeholders, to agree plans, initiatives and policy in order to meet business objectives

- To effectively manage the Taxation Function (direct tax and indirect tax) of the company with a view to minimizing tax risks and consequent P&L impact

- Management of local tax compliance and relationship with local revenue authorities for the company

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Reporting :

- Prepare or oversee the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheet, and analysis of future earnings and expenses

- Produce monthly management accounts for all departments in a timely and accurate manner

- Preparation and Reporting of monthly Balance Sheet and P&L to Head Office

- Prepare financial statements, business activity reports and forecasts

- Preparing and reviewing monthly dashboard for the senior management

- Liaison with Statutory, Internal, SEBI Inspection, System Auditors and ensuring smooth audit

- To prepare MIS and report to various levels of management on daily basis

- Coordinate with various audit teams like statutory auditors, tax auditors, SEBI inspectors and provide them the required data and resolving the queries raised by them

- All the month end closing activities including monitoring of control accounts, capitalization of assets purchased, reconciling fixed assets register with accounting system

- Effectively liaising with the head office team and responding to various queries raised by them

- Prepare and Submission of financial statements to SEBI on yearly basis

Taxation :

- Tax administration- to establish and administer tax policies and procedures

- Co-ordination for group FII tax returns & compliances. Manage & co-ordinate the tax assessments and litigations at different levels of tax departments

- To ensure that the various Tax requirements are complied with on a timely basis - advance tax, corporate income tax & wealth tax returns, tax audit report, review and filing of appeals etc.

- To handle GST, TDS, Professional Tax, & related taxation issues. SEBI compliances, other statutory compliance as per prescribed guidelines

- Filing of Income Tax returns, TDS returns, Goods & Services Tax returns, Professional Tax returns and Tax audit reports

- Preparation of Tax Audit and Transfer Pricing reports, preparation and submission of data to various tax departments, monthly Goods & Services tax calculation and Goods & Services tax return filing, follow up with tax authorities for orders and refunds

- Identify and implement areas of tax reduction and savings. Identify and mitigate tax risks, ensure minimal P&L impact arising out of tax risks etc.

Candidates Profile :

- Candidates should be Chartered Accountants with about 8 to 12 years of relevant experience in the securities and broking industry.
