Scrabble is mandated to hire a VP - Finance & Accounts for a leading e-commerce service partner in India.

Position: VP, Finance & Accounts

Role Overview:

The VP of Finance & Accounts will be at the helm of the incumbent's financial operations ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving scale for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Control:

- Develop comprehensive financial controls spanning treasury, compliance, and accounting domains.

- Craft bespoke Internal Financial Control (IFC)/Risk Control Matrix (RCM) frameworks tailored to meet the stringent standards, including the Big 6, ensuring adherence to their control mandates.

- Proactively detect and address potential financial risks, implementing strategic measures to mitigate them effectively.

- Establish and uphold resilient internal financial control mechanisms to safeguard organizational assets and foster financial stability.

Advanced Finance Technology Proficiency:

- Possessing an extensive grasp of data and systems intricacies, adept at constructing dynamic dashboards and streamlined processes handling vast datasets.

- Proficient in analysing diverse Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions available in the market, with a knack for implementing cutting-edge ERPs to effectively manage business scalability.

Tax & Compliance:

- Have a good understanding of TDS, GST, Income tax, FEMA and import regulations to ensure adherence to both direct and indirect tax regulations.

- Work with subject matter experts in finance to be fully compliance as per the evolving business landscape.

- Represent the organisation for all key matters related to compliance such as GST audit, scrutiny or notices.

Stakeholder Communication:

- Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including AD banks, auditors, direct / indirect tax partners and government.

- Represent and problem solve with respective stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and ownership across the team

Operational Efficiency:

- Champion process improvements, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

- Play an instrumental role in potential M&A activities, from due diligence to financial modelling and valuation of the business.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Background: Chartered Accountant certification is mandatory. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is highly desirable.

Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in finance, with a track record in senior financial managerial roles (taxes, audit, compliance). Experience in the e-commerce sector along with import experience is preferred.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in financial software, advanced Excel functionalities.

- Understanding ERP systems for finance an advantage and any experience in transitioning from Tally to it is a significant advantage.

Soft Skills:

- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, analytical thinking, problem solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
