Vice President - Engineering - Technology

Basic Requirement:

We are looking for an analytical, results-driven and quality-focused head of engineering who will lead our product innovation and software development team and contribute to shaping our platform. He/she will be part of the core founding team, will report to one of the co-founder, and is responsible for establishing the company- s technical vision and leading all aspects of the company's technology development.

We require an agile leader who possesses experience in consumer products/platforms, and understanding of how to lead a growing technology organization. We are looking for a leader and team player who is not only knowledgeable but also be team focused, collaborative and self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

- Build and manage technology team and oversee R&D, Engineering, Application Development, Architecture, Infrastructure, Product Management and User Experience Design

- Develop the technology strategic plan and position and prepare the technology organization for scalable growth: architecture, development, infrastructure, people, processes, roadmaps, etc.

- Define product strategy and product roadmaps with clear objectives and long-term vision

- Establish and enforce technical standards for product development and company operations.

- Work with Product Management Team to establish a product roadmap and release schedule

- Monitor and maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a lookout for new technologies and work with the team in bringing in new technologies.

- Strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables, lead effort to develop, and deploy all web-based services

- Proven leadership ability - Ability to set and manage priorities based on team KPIs and quantitative attributes

- Demonstrated ability to design web-based products and services that meet customer needs (and feedback)

- Driving a culture of passion for Data and Technology throughout the company

- Compile & analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.

- Developing ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.

Technical Skills:

- Experienced in cloud implementations with any of the leading cloud providers

- Ability to define system design, tech roadmap, software architecture and setup database schema

- Experienced in implementation of custom or standard CRM systems

- Experienced in setting up user friendly web interfaces that's responsive across browsers and devices

- Experienced in building platforms with open-source web, mobile and database technologies

- Ability to utilize new age technologies such as AI, ML, VR, Computer Vision to bring competitive advantage

- Knowledge of Data Security, Secure Coding, Encryption, Multi-tenancy, Scalability, and High Availability

- Preferred Tech stack - NodeJS, MySQL, ReactJs/AngularJs with experience in working with platform like express.js, loopback, Sails.js etc.

Requirements

- Proven experience in developing and launching innovative, consumer tech products; Should have architected and delivered an end-to-end solution for all stakeholders

- Experience in creating the necessary team structure and managing a diverse teams. Work with team on dayto-day development activities; participate in designs, design review, code review, and implementation.

- Should have 5 years+ of experience in managing a complex technology operation and leading cross-functional efforts across multiple teams. Should be able to translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture, design and code.

- Experience and deep domain expertise in building Web applications, Stacks, Data sciences

- Effective technology product oversight from concept through launch & post-sales support

- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing short and long-term technology roadmaps

- Experience implementing and executing an Agile software development methodology

- Fluency with best practices and concepts; Experience with, and preference for, leveraging and contributing to open source solutions

- Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or a related technology field from a tier-1 institute is preferred

- Ability to delve into macro business objectives and come up with tech solutions

- Ability to put forth complex tech decisions in a way that make sense to non-tech audience
