Designation: AVP/VP - Plant (Lead - Engineering Role)

Reporting to: MD

Location: Goa (Open for Relocation Candidates)

About Us: Our client Company is an integrated pharmaceutical company dedicated only to topical

formulation. They have 3 business segments: (a) contract manufacturing for domestic and export markets; (b) generic products under own brand for US market; and (c) branded products for the India consumer market. One of their arms is also in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Strategy and Planning:

1. Plan for additions to equipment / technology / process after carrying out cost benefit analysis of the same and optimize use of existing capacity

2. Provide strategic support for undertaking techno commercial discussions with consultants/ vendors on project planning, execution of New Technology, cost estimation and feasibility study

3. Prepare proposals for investment in machinery / equipment by coordinating with the Production / Manufacturing Head and present the same to the Management for approvals

B. Financial:

1. Develop an engineering budget for the Plant in consultation with Operations Head and ensure regular monitoring and proactive actions in case on deviations

2. Oversee the development of value engineering initiatives for cost reduction and cost effectiveness of the project resources

3. Participate in critical negotiation (commercial and technical) of spares, equipment and identify opportunities to reduce spares cost in coordination with

Procurement team

C. Operations:

1. Review preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules for all equipment in the plant and ensure adherence to those schedules

2. Oversee maintenance of repository of all equipment and spares specifications and manuals

3. Ensure adherence to turn-around-time in resolution of equipment faults/breakdowns

4. Focus on cost cutting and capacity utilization by enabling increased productivity of equipment and machinery and improved processes

5. Provide assistance to the Production/ Manufacturing team in implementation of capacity expansion initiatives

6. Facilitate seamless technology transfer to production lines in a plant by assisting the respective Teams involved

7. Ensure proper functioning of utilities and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) in the Plant

8. Liaise with suppliers for implementation of Annual Maintenance Contracts and other similar service agreements

9. Track equipment parameters to monitor possible breakdown and oversee repair / replacement as necessary

10. Ensure optimal equipment and spares inventory by coordinating with the stores, procurement teams and equipment / spares suppliers

11. Assist the Quality Assurance team in developing training modules for technical personnel working on equipment

12. Assist the Validation teams in ensuring equipment and utility installation, operations, and performance

13. quality assessment and continuously improve SOPs relating to the same

14. Liaise with Quality Assurance teams to enable quality audits on the output of equipment and assist the other departments in closing any plant-level Non Compliance Reports (NCRs)

15. Ensure optimal use of utilities for minimizing energy consumption and continuously review processes to minimize pollution / leakages

16. Lead the execution of critical capital-intensive projects, to ensure adherence to cost, timelines and quality

17. Review vendor performance considering efficiency, accuracy and condition monitoring data of the equipment and intimate vendors on deviations

18. Exemplify safety within the workplace by reviewing site safety procedures and guideline.

19. Assist in development of disaster recovery / worst-case scenarios for the plant by working closely with the Plant Head, Production/ Manufacturing Head, as per guidelines from the EHS

People management:

1. Lead the people agenda across the function through skilling and developing employees, building the talent pipeline and other initiatives

2. Lead a culture of performance in the team - Set goals, review, and manage performance, guide, counsel and provide feedback on performance to ensure a motivated and committed team.

Qualification: A bachelor's degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or related discipline
