Vice President - Engineering - Online Travel Business

Lead the Bangalore based OTA (Online Travel Agency) engineering teams for one of the fastest growing South East Asian markets setup

- Lead team of 30 - 40 top talent R&D, Engineering, Automation, DevOps and performance engineering functions and will report to the CTO

- Deliver products and platforms, and lead technological initiatives for building competitive advantages in products and platforms catering to the online travel industry space with a market leader in SE Asia

- Own key product and platform quality, performance, scalability and reliability metrics and be part of product, platform direction, decisions and strategy

- Be the steward of software engineering best practices (including code quality, test coverage, product quality), processes, and metrics

- Lead a high velocity DevOps team in the organization

- Be the architect of highly available and scalable micro services architecture in the organization

- Keep up to date with trends and innovation in engineering, and other programming paradigms, and shape the company technology strategy in alignment with business strategy

- Direct strategic technology capability investment to build future company growth engine and competitive advantage

- Attract and grow top engineering talent for building teams

- Sustain learning and knowledge sharing culture in the organization

Technical Skillset: 

- Experienced in building and growing large engineering teams and scalable systems with best practices in top technology companies serving a large user base. Experience in e-commerce; OTA industry or Ride sharing services a plus.

- Experience in building large scale distributed systems and possibly in depth exposure to micros services architecture.

- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to handle both the big picture and crucial technical decisions.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to navigate a large organization.

- Good business acumen and ability to understand market and user needs.

- Ability to face off and interact with to Product Heads, Business heads and CEO, COO and CTO functions

Qualification - 

- Education in Computer Science or other Engineering and quantitative subjects from top universities.

- Master's in Engineering will be a plus
