Vice President - Engineering - Internet/Online

Designation : VP Engineering

Location : US ( candidate should have valid visa or Green card to work in US) - should be open to travel as per business needs ( We are open for both Indian Nationals & or US Nationals)

Experience : 10 to 12 Yrs ( should not be more than 35 yrs)

Qualification : BE / BTech / Mtech / MS ( Computer Science / IT / Electrical Engg.)

Industry : we are looking for candidates who have worked in start ups and or brands like, Amazon, Walmart, Uber, facebook etc.

Reporting : he will have direct reporting to CTO & also dotted reporting to CEO

Notice Period : Someone who can join us in 30 days or so.

You will be helping develop engineering leaders, solve problems, create efficient processes and quality standards as well as keep the team productive and happy. You'll also be working closely with the Product team to ensure the product roadmap is achievable and is being delivered on time and with high quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Independently own, drive and evolve multiple product lines

- Mentor and manage multiple teams across Apps, UI, IoT, QA, Devops and Backend

- Architect highly scalable, highly available systems with minimal guidance.

- Set the technology direction for the team

- Translate business requirements into scalable and extensible design.

- Continuously refactor applications to ensure high performance and low latency systems.

- Write high quality code that are modular, functional and testable; Establish the best coding practices.

- Experience with vendor negotiation and integration with third party systems

- Practice and advocate best SDLC processes in the team.

Required Skills

- 10+ years of experience in consumer platform/product using Java/J2EE or Ruby/RoR tech stacks

- Experience in building both B2B and B2C oriented systems

- Exposure to web-scale architecture and big data systems is a plus.

- Ability to be process-oriented to manage large (50+ member) teams

- Good understanding of Devops, QA Automation and Design processes.

- Exposure to Ruby and Go is desirable.

- Exposure to IoT/Embedded systems is essential.

- Very strong object-oriented design skills, awareness of design patterns and architectural patterns

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and communication skills.

- Ability to communicate well and good public speaking skills is desirable.

- Highly collaborative and comfortable with both high-level planning and tactical execution.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced internet start-up environment.

- Experience in technical mentorship/coaching is essential.
