Position Overview: VP of Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge and understanding of Salesforce, a strong technical background, exceptional leadership abilities, experience building and growing technology teams, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

- Lead, manage, and hold the Engineering leadership team accountable for achieving agreed-upon deliverables and commitments.

- Manage and mentor a diverse team of developers, QA analysts, and an architect, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.

- Drive the adoption of best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to prioritize and deliver feature enhancements, bug fixes, and technical initiatives.

- Monitor and optimize team performance, productivity, and resource allocation to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

- Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software engineering, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence within the team.

- Act as a technical advisor and escalation point for complex technical issues, providing guidance and support to team members as needed.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the development process.

- Evangelize the latest thinking around the Salesforce platform, technical delivery models, and DevOps methodologies.

Build a world-class engineering team:

- Foster and facilitate the professional growth and development of our engineering staff as well as lead effective cross-functional collaboration across groups within the organization.

- Build organizational capability within these teams by recruiting and retaining outstanding talent and providing mentoring, training (internal and external), and other opportunities for professional growth and development.

- Demonstrate a relentless obsession with corporate value alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity.

- Effectively collaborate with your peers and confirm that all key messages are properly and consistently cascaded across the organization and that all employees are clear on roles, business objectives, and priorities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- Salesforce Certified System and/or Application Architect is preferred

- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

- 5+ years working in the Salesforce ecosystem with deep knowledge and understanding of the Salesforce Platform and Cloud Products

- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams, preferably in a fast-paced startup or technology-driven environment.

- Strong technical proficiency in software development methodologies, programming languages, and tools, with expertise in areas such as Apex, API Development, Lightning Web Components, and LDS

- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members at all levels.

- Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with the ability to make well-informed technical decisions.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools, and a commitment to continuous improvement and delivery excellence.

- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both locally and globally.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-driven mindset, with a passion for driving innovation and delivering high-quality software solutions.
