DWH Specialist / Architect_Vice President_Investment Bank
We have an urgent opening with one of the top investment bank.
The Responsibilities :
Datawehousing specialist role will be responsible for defining future state strategy for end-to-end data analysis, data governance, data lineage for capital and risk reporting platforms.
Role will provide :
- Technical leadership to Capital reporting and credit risk platforms.
- Enable C&RR to deepen the analysis on the data management (both BAU and change).
- Develop end-to-end data governance through GRDW and FRANK architecture.
- Represent GRDW/FRANK in Risk Solutions centralized architecture and governance team on longer-term design and strategy..
- Understand the need of the complex program and device plans/changes to plans as required from time to time
The Requirements :
Essential Experience : (Must have)
- Banking domain knowledge
- Minimum 13+ years of IT experience, and at least 3 years of design and strategy experience.
- Experience of designing data warehousing solutions for large-scale applications.
- Experience with DWH platforms like Informatica PowerCenter, Oracle WarehouseBuilder etc.
- Experience in defining end to end data modeling and lineage
- Experience with tools like ERWIN, Microsoft Visio, Informatica metadata manager.
- Strong Working knowledge of relational database
- Proven hands on experience in writing SQL Queries and use of tools like SQL Navigator, Toad
- E2E project delivery experience within a large organization
- Experience in working in large and geographically dispersed teams
- Excellent communication skills, negotiation skills
- Able to work in a multi-cultural, international environment
- In-depth understanding of all stages of the software development lifecycle
Delivery Responsibilities :
- End-to-end future strategy for integrated GRDW/FRANK platforms aligned to simplification vision and utilizing DEVOPS based delivery model.
- Data models/lineage for existing data flows and end-to-end data dictionary.
- Coordinate and manage the delivery across multiple teams across the organization (e.g. infrastructure teams, design and testing teams)
- Transform delivery cycle for GRDW/FRANK platforms from 3-4 deliveries a year to multiple deliveries by improving SDLC processes and introducing Agile/Devops practices.
- Work closely with Test Manager to ensure System Testing, Non-Functional Testing and UAT align with overall project plan
- Working with 3rd parties delivery teams by providing thought leadership and ensuring deliveries happen as per laid out vision/strategy.
- Review and assurance of production implementation approach and associated plans
- Review of supplier work estimates, contracts and procurement of services.
- Delivery quality assurance as per RBS c4c standards (Project gates, SOX compliance)
- Prepare and maintain current/future state roadmaps and present them to senior technology and business stakeholders.
Deliverables :
- Ensure projects delivery is as per technical standards for DWH and inline with future strategic roadmaps.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure no compromise to DWH architecture principles.
- Ensure continuous reduction in technical debt created by past releases and alignment to future roadmap.
- Ensure testing strategies are consistent and utilize best practices for large scale DWH deliveries.
- Review performance testing KPI- s/results to ensure no compromise to production stability due to any change in functionality.
- Provide suggestions/inputs to production infrastructure upgrades/problems and maintain a good understanding of production stability co-related factors to advice development teams.
- Ensure all governance is understood and in place to allow implementation of change to production environments (e.g. MCR- s, ORP, SOE etc.)
- Deliver change requests- impact assessments on time and minimize impact to overall plan.
- Meet all Level 0 milestones laid out by the GRDW delivery programme and meet quality targets of the programme.
- Build agreed price contracts with vendor, gaining efficiencies through scale, pushing greater accountability on vendor partners
People Management :
- Setting of Objectives, Performance Reviews, and Talent Management for direct reports
- General line management activity including absence management and ensuring professional standards are adhered to
- Recruiting/sourcing additional team members as required time to time.
