Role Overview: Recruited on behalf of our esteemed client by Recrud, the Vice President of Data Science (Demand) will play a pivotal role in steering the organization's demand forecasting, pricing optimization, and customer insights strategies. This individual will lead a proficient team of data scientists and analysts to harness advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling techniques, directly impacting the company's growth trajectory and market dominance.

Responsibilities:

- Design and implement innovative data science strategies to enhance demand forecasting, optimize inventory management, and refine pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with the organization's overarching goals.

- Lead and expand a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering an environment of continuous learning and innovation.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, and Product, to integrate data-driven insights into business processes, driving measurable improvements in customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

- Oversee the development and deployment of advanced predictive models and machine learning algorithms, continuously enhancing their accuracy and impact.

- Champion the adoption of state-of-the-art data science technologies and methodologies across the organization.

- Maintain a deep understanding of emerging trends and developments in data science, retail, and ecommerce, leveraging this knowledge to maintain the company's competitive edge.

- Communicate complex data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, facilitating informed decision-making.

Requirements:

- A minimum of 12 years of experience in data science, with a substantial portion in leadership roles, ideally within the retail or ecommerce sector.

- A proven track record of developing and implementing successful data science strategies that have delivered significant business impact.

- Extensive experience in demand forecasting, pricing optimization, and customer analytics.

- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

- Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling, with hands-on experience in using leading data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
