Purpose of the Job : The VP Claims will be the person to handle the claims for the company's retail life portfolio with the view of Settling genuine claims in the quickest and easiest possible manner for claimants and reducing adverse claims Duties &amp; Responsibilities: The role will be entail managing the team with focus on the important operational aspects of the Life Claims Function: - Claims Decisions: Ensuring the right claim decisions while pursuing the shortest possible TAT, which will involve Claim adjudication and ensuring regulatory compliance - Reporting: Standardizing regulatory and financial reporting and reducing the manual dependencies with a view to improve speed, efficiency, transparency and customer convenience in claims. - Operational Quality: Ensuring all transactional risks are covered and mitigation measures are envisaged and deployed. Ensuring that the team is equipped and complying with the mitigation measures. - Knowledge Management: Capturing and institutionalizing the tacit adjudication logic and processing logic to ensure people dependency is minimized - Drive claims review committee and other updates to senior management Knowledge: Knowledge of Life Insurance business is essential. Desirable - Detailed understanding of mortality risk from an underwriting/death claim perspective Work Related Skills : Understanding of Life Asia, MS Office Work Experience : 10+ years in Life insurance operations Education : Medical background. (Doctors/para-clinical). One who holds a degree in Medical Science. MBBS/BDS/Homeopathy/Ayurveda from a recognised university Note : Only candidates with medical background &amp; experience of working in Insurance industry will be preferred.
