Responsibilities - What to expect from the role ?

- The candidate is expected to strategies and spearhead all SEO activities across the company, and deliver numbers while managing a team of 50+.

- Taking ownership of SEO targets, planning, budgeting and resource forecasting.

- Supervising SEO Managers and supporting personnel while guiding them in the execution of their responsibilities.

- Determining the strategic direction of SEO campaigns while ensuring these strategies are in line with the business's overall goals and objectives.

- Identifying opportunities, points of improvement and creative solutions to the company's SEO projects.

- Giving the business a competitive edge by staying on top of and implementing latest SEO strategies.

- Identifying skill gaps in the SEO department and working with the HR department in filling these positions with suitable candidates.

- Collaborating with third party influencers in order to drive link building opportunities for the business.

- Employing the use of several SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc. in identifying trends, issues, and opportunities to optimize website to drive more traffic via higher keyword rankings.

Experience:

- Proven track record in successfully designing and delivery of SEO plans and strategies in fast paced businesses.

- Substantial experience working in a managerial position involving a team in SEO Content Editing or Content Marketing capacity.

- Solid comprehension of search engine ranking factors, algorithms, site architectures and strategies.

- Deep knowledge of Google Analytics, Search Console, Semrush, Moz, Ahrefs and other useful SEO tools.

- Good technical understanding of website usability, server logs, structured data, XML sitemaps, website performance, indexation issues and content - Proficient in crawl management.

- Complete and detailed website audits.

Required Skill-set:

- Excellent team management, planning, analytical and organizational skills.

- Be data-driven in decision making and transparent in team activities.

- Ability to encourage and motivate own team and other stakeholders into working towards a unified vision and objective.

- Leading by example with excellent people skills, such that SEO personnel are ready to follow his/her directives not due to authority but by respect, likeability and relatability.

- Ability to prioritize and manage changing requirements and short timelines, as well as multiple overlapping projects simultaneously.

Qualification:

- 8 - 10 years of SEO experience Background of preferred candidates

- Experience in edtech, travel, content focused start-ups

- Tier 1 academic pedigree - IIT / IIM / MDI / ISB / NIT is ideal

- At least 5 yrs of Inhouse SEO experience

- Experience in International SEO
