VAT/Tax Manager - Manufacturing Firm - Europe Region

- Excellent opportunity for VAT/Tax Manager - Europe in a reputed manufacturing company.

Responsibilities Include :

- Serving as the primary contact for various VAT matters within the enterprise

- Overseeing all audits related to value added tax, both domestically and internationally

- Directly liaising with tax authorities, external advisors, and auditors

- Implementing intercompany VAT training programs on national and international levels

- Enhancing VAT-relevant business processes and conducting thorough plausibility checks

- Monitoring legislative changes and tax rate adjustments, and updating the SAP system accordingly

- Assisting the European tax Manager in day-to-day operations, including tax reporting, tax provision calculation, and determining deferred and current taxes according to US GAAP and local standards

- Acting as a substitute for the European Senior Tax Manager when necessary

- Coordinating and overseeing the compilation of data for VAT-related declarations using shared services based in India

- Generating and submitting VAT-related declarations via KPMG's tool for MPM DE, NL, BE & UK

- Handling various wage tax matters and calculating flat rate wage tax

Qualifications :

- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, economics, tax, or law

- 5 to 7 years of experience in European Union VAT or tax consulting/management

- Proficiency in SAP R3/ERP and MS Office applications

- Strong prioritization and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively

- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a global setting

- Experience working in global teams within a matrix structure

- Capability to work independently with a proactive and resilient attitude

- Quick comprehension skills with a willingness to learn and adapt

- Proven track record of actively contributing to process improvement initiatives and proposing innovative solutions

- Fluent proficiency in written and spoken English; for Leverkusen, Germany, fluency in both English and German is required.
