Valuation Analyst - BFS

Role Valuations and Fund MIS (for private debt funds set up as AIFs / FPIs)

Summary:

The incumbent would be primarily responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of quarterly and annual valuations of instruments held by the funds. It will require coordination with external valuers as well as various internal departments including various deal teams of each fund, fund operations team, risk team, and compliance department.

The role also includes presenting the valuation files to the valuation committee headed by the CEO. Additionally, the incumbent is expected to provide accurate and timely MIS /reports to the CFO, the risk team and any other departments. Such reports include various fund MIS reports, carry and drag calculations, overdue reporting, and ad-hoc fund data collation and calculations.

The person would also be a point of contact between the technology team and the fund operations team to suggest and improvise existing processes and current in-house system. This role does not involve making any investment decisions.

Detailed job description:

- Ensuring valuations are done for all deals within timelines

- Coordinating with external valuers, various internal deal teams, fund operations team, risk team, and compliance department for various data, reports, comments, and minutes

- Presenting the valuation file to the valuation committee and responding to their queries

- Ensuring timely completion of allied tasks like signing of valuation minutes, resolving valuation related audit queries, engagement and negotiation with external valuers, liaising with various teams (i.e. complete ownership for all funds' valuations including internal and external valuations)

- Ensuring accuracy in valuation process

- Ensuring accurate and timely calculations of carry & drag, HTM IRR, MTM IRR, Fund IRR

- To make sure management MIS/dashboards are available within timelines

- Checking reports generated by the in-house system and highlighting any issues in such reports to technology/Fund team.

- To explore areas to mitigate risk of preparing data manually and automate the same. To actively work on the ongoing automation project and ensure timely completion of the project.

- Responding timely to relevant ad-hoc requirement requests with accurate data including adhoc requirements of Limited Partners (LPs).

- Adhering to any other requirements of CFO's office.
