As the Head of the Clinical Function across all 3 Hospitals, the incumbent would be responsible for defining and driving world class clinical strategy and outcomes for our patients; ensuring consistent and standardized Clinical services, adherence to Clinical Protocols for providing quality patient care, quality initiatives as prime responsibilities and ensure a high standard of academics and clinical team capability.

Key Responsibilities :

Clinical Strategy and Service

Excellence

- Study global best practices in clinical areas and define world-class clinical excellence standards for CK Birla Hospitals.

- Align the doctors, consultants and clinical teams to the organization's goals and targets and create internal 'champions' for its vision and values.

- Own and deliver the 'clinical excellence' brand promise ensuring that the hospitals are recognized for it amongst patients and the doctor community.

- Be an effective brand ambassador for the hospital within the larger community.

- Develop Clinical Protocols and act as the custodian for the same in each Hospital, to ensure high standards of patient care and superior clinical outcomes.

- Monitor compliance to clinical protocols for all medical services across hospitals

- Take corrective action in the event of gaps in service delivery.

- Sets standards for clinical quality excellence with help of Clinical Quality team

- Ensure RCA of all sentinel events and dissemination of learnings around mortality and morbidity reviews to all clinical staff.

- Identifies gaps in clinical service delivery and processes and institutes corrective and preventative measures to ensure that desired clinical standards are met and consistently improved upon.

- Plan and oversee the implementation of multidisciplinary care delivery models for clinicians in all 3 Hospitals.

- Set the Clinical strategy and advise on manpower and other infrastructure requirements before the implementation of any new medical program.

- Study and benchmark world-class domestic and international clinical programmes to identify opportunities for developing new (or enriching existing) clinical specialties and programmes in the hospital.

- Build the business case for these programmes and influence stakeholders on their patient and commercial benefits.

Clinical Quality and Patient

Safety

- Drive patient safety and clinical quality culture in the 3 units.

- Oversee the clinical governance framework in the Hospitals and establish standards of practice to ensure compliance with relevant state clinical statutory and regulatory requirements.

- Introduce systems to manage clinical risk including risk scoring, medical and system audits.

- Design and manage clinical performance across the Unit.

- Actively promote the patient centricity concept throughout the Clinical community.

- Develop strategies to assess clinical outcomes.

- Responsible for the effective direction and planning of infection prevention and control initiatives.

- Identify knowledge gaps in functional areas and implement training programmes to close those gaps.

- Spot opportunities to benchmark best-in-class techniques from other institutions.

a. Work closely with the Chief of Nursing and take all necessary steps to ensure high standards of patient care.

- Clinical Engagement - Devise the optimum organization structure and staffing levels for Medical
Administration teams that are in line with the growth plans, clinical standards and care philosophy of CKBH.

- Support the hiring and on-boarding of high quality consultants and staff across all hospitals.

- Network with doctors and specialists in India and overseas to stay abreast with information and build relationships with the medical community. Map the best doctors aligned to the clinical focus areas for the hospital and communicate a mutually beneficial value proposition to attract them to join the hospital.

- Drive leadership development and succession planning to identify, groom and develop high potential for key leadership positions.

- Drive appropriate credentialing and privileging practices to enhance the quality of clinical services.

- Engage with senior clinicians to ensure their ownership and complete involvement in all matters related to the unit.

- Formulate a robust clinician engagement programme in all 3 Units.

- Identify the training needs of staff and arrange appropriate continuing professional education programmes.

- Promote continuing professional education of medical, nursing and paramedical staff.

Compliance, Audit and Accreditation

- Liaise with accreditation bodies and ensure timely assessments.

- Responsible for ensuring all processes are followed in lab as per the laboratory accreditation standards; drive lab accreditation in the unit.

- To ensure departmental standards / protocols are met, maintained and reviewed to be conversant with, adhere to and promote the hospital and departmental policies.

- To assist in the coordination and implementation of NABH and JCI guidelines and protocols.

- To assist with the conduct of clinical audits in each Hospital Education & Research and - Supervise and monitor the development of DNB and fellowship programmes.

- Establish a Clinical Research program in all Hospitals and monitor Governance around it

- Capability Development - Ensure publishing of Peer Reviewed Research Papers by Consultants in each
Hospital.

- Develop a world-class training curriculum for enhancing the functional and clinical skills of consultants, junior doctors and medical staff, that is acknowledged by them as a key value driver of working with the hospital.

- Train internal subject matter experts to deliver on-going functional training to both new hires and staff to build a culture of learning and clinical excellence in the hospital.

- Measure the impact of training programmes and take corrective action.

- Carry out academic and research activities with other institutes and hospitals for building and augmenting the clinical knowledge and brand of the hospital.

- Ensure the publication of papers by clinicians in identified specialty.

- Planning planning and strategizing in each Hospital.

- Identifies opportunities for improvement and work on projects to close gaps.

- Appreciate the wider business context and identify medical challenges and opportunities.

- Budget and plan capital items/equipment, manpower requirement.

- Find ways to optimize costs of consumables and materials in the hospital.

- Drive the adoption of HIS in all defined areas for enhancing process efficiency.

- Conduct drug formulatory meetings to review existing practices and usage and finalize drug and pharmacy lists and brands for the hospital. Discuss clinical equipment and consumables choices, trade-offs and costs with manufacturers, consultants and medical staff, to finalize and approve all equipment lists for the hospital along with management

Major Job Qualifications / Specific Skills

Required Education:

MD

Preferred Education:

- PG Degree in Hospital Administration

- Experience At least 20 years of experience, with preferably at least

- 5-8 years of international clinical exposure

- Knowledge and Specific Skills Knowledge about NABH standard, JCI, Auditing skills,
