US TAXATION :


1. Full understanding of partnership, corporation and LLC income tax returns. This would include understanding basis issues and 754 step up and elections. These returns are very similar and are consistent from industry to industry.

2. Full understanding of S corp returns which have other nuances from partnerships and LLC's. Must understand basis issues as well.

3. Know US depreciation rules, organizational costs, and sales/purchase price allocations.

4. Familiarity with CCH software.

5. Secondary skills would be a plus in corporate tax, 990;s and 5500's.

- Successful candidates will have deep and meaningful relationships within the business community and will have a record of accomplishment of developing new business and leveraging trusted relationships.

- Coordinate firm resources to deliver the best products and services to our associates who, in turn, will deliver the best services and products to our clients.

- Demonstrates consistent "tone at the top" with an unwavering commitment to quality, integrity, risk management, and policies.

- Familiar with the tax consulting process and possess the analytical skills necessary for the effective diagnosis, development, and implementation of solutions to clients' tax needs. With the support of the firm, maximize client value and protection.

- Set a strong tone for tax risk management, which includes supporting risk and compliance monitoring.

- Support the risk and compliance initiatives related to accepting the right tax clients, evaluating the risk profile of the firm's tax project types, and implementing the appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

- Development, implementation, and enforcement of rules, standards, and procedures designed to mitigate risk in tax compliance, planning, and specialised services. This includes incorporating lessons learned from tax claims: matters, inspection results, and client feedback with respect to serving issues.

- Ensure a process exists to oversee the tax planning and mitigate risk associated with transactional services and due diligence projects where tax issues are significant to the transaction.

- Create an environment of trust, teamwork, empowerment, and entrepreneurship through quality communication, relationships, coaching, and mentoring strategies.

- Ensure office tax employees are appropriately trained, challenged, recognised, and counselled and mentored.

- Ensures that tax professionals with the requisite knowledge and skills are assigned to the office's appropriate clients.

- Identify skilled professionals to instruct in various L&D programs, emphasising that participation is essential to meeting our strategic goals.

Assist the Leadership with CPE for tax professionals in :

- Ensure that all tax team members are trained, developed, counselled, and recognized.

- Collaborate with Leadership review annual performance, compensation, and promotion adjustments for tax personnel.

- Identify high performers at all levels, and ensure that each has a tailored, documented development plan.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree

- Must be able to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business

- Successful candidates will possess the ability to plan client engagements, provide tax consulting services, manage compliance projects, supervise, and review work of team staff members, work closely with clients as well as internal managers and partners

- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information and tax law

- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience working for a Big 4 or large national, regional or local accounting firm

- Proven ability to develop new business relationships and expand services to existing clients.

Note:

Experience:

- 5+ years relevant experience in US Tax. 1065, 1120 and 1120s forms are mandatory. Consider only preparing and reviewing experience.

- Experience into backend support or only knowledge about these forms are not considered.

- Federal tax experience required, Mix of Federal & SALT (State And Local Tax) can be considered
