US Taxation Analyst - Civil & Construction Firm

This opportunity is with one of the largest civil and construction company. It has its headquarters in San Francisco.

Location : Gurgaon

U.S. Tax Analyst: The primary function of this position is the timely preparation and support of assigned responsibilites relating to U.S. federal, state and local income and franchise tax compliance, transfer pricing data support, and support/input for U.S. estimated tax computations, and related processes. This includes financial data extraction, preparation and review of financial data for assigned tax return entities, calculation of differences between financial statement reporting of expense and income, and U.S. taxable income, as well as support analysis for taxing jurisdiction audits,transfer pricing, foreign tax credits.

Job Knowledge & Skills:

U.S. Federal and multistate corporate tax return preparation (Form 1120 preparation).

U.S. Federal and multistate partnership tax return preparation a plus (Form 1065 preparation).

Strong GAAP accounting and tax accounting skills.

Motivated for continuous learning of unfamiliar or evolving areas of US taxation.

Quantitative orientation with curiosity and critical thinking, including ability to ask questions about why results come out the way they do

Modeling and What If skills required.

Ability to challenge the status quo and think of more efficient ways to achieve same result.

Superior Excel proficiency required.

VBA for Excel and general programming skills a big plus.

Familiarity with ACCESS type databases and SharePoint a plus.

Experience in tax return software (OneSource, BNA or other depreciation system) required.

Experience in Oracle and Oracle Report Writer (CFAR) a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Works very well in a virtual team environment.

Highest ethical standards.

May require occasional travel to U.S.

Flexibility needed to attend teleconferences early or late in the day, and possibly work a specific shift to better coincide with U.S. working hours.
