US Tax Manager (1040 HNI/1041 Trust)

Role Description:

We are looking at someone who can be the manager for our Private Client Services group and manage day to compliance for our clients and handle the team. We are looking for someone who's currently based out of Bangalore/Mumbai or willing to relocate.

Your key responsibilities:

- Should be able to review simple to complex tax compliance with regards to US Federal & State Individual tax returns for HNI clients (1040), Trusts & Estate Tax Returns (1041s, 706, 709 etc.).

- Have good understanding of various foreign forms such as 8621, 926, 8865, 8886, 8938 etc.

- Have working experience handling clients having some of the complex tax issues such as multiple state filings, different filing statuses, clients having ownership interest in Partnership & S corporation entities etc.

- Keep updated with the relevant rules and regulations with regards to ongoing tax legislation and apply the same on the work and handle client communications effectively.

- Build relationships across industry service groups to ensure client service excellence through an integrated approach.

- Comply with the firm's policies, procedures, and professional standards.

- To manage engagements through teaming structure, leveraging resources appropriately and developing and training the team that will enhance client experience.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

- Master's degree in finance/accounting.

- Enrolled Agent Certification will be an added advantage.

- Eight - Ten years of relevant work experience handling US Tax compliance for Individuals, Estates and Trusts.

- Strong communication skills to handle client relationships and maintain great working relations with the team members both in US & India.

- Experience in handling a team of people in the past and taking part in coaching and mentoring them.

- Strong technological skills such as CCH Axcess, Sureprep binders, Microsoft applications etc.

Skills and attributes for success:

- Ability to work and plan effectively with minimal direction in ambiguous situations.

- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on building high functioning teams

- Able to articulate/position complex/critical challenges, issues, etc.

- The ability to priorities when working on multiple complex projects.

- Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes.

- Contributing to a positive team environment by demonstrating consistent commitment and optimism towards work challenges
