Unit Head - Operations - Hospital

Job Title : Unit Head

Reports To: CEO

Objective of Position

Responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of Hospitals including management of profit and loss statement for the Hospitals- business as well as the related resources associated with the Hospital operation.

Principal Accountabilities

(A) Strategic

- Planning and commissioning of all services related to medical, operation and related areas.

- Develop Risk management policies for the hospital

- Develop Resource utilization programme for the hospital.

- Provide management oversight for the development of high quality, cost effective and integrated services within the Hospital.

- Ensure that the revenue and profit is being generated as per Business Plan and implement corrective measures as and where required to meet the Business Plan.

- Constantly review the hospital operations in response to changes in customer demand, identification of scope for improvement and reporting the same to the CEO and implementation of final decision.

- Ensure effective communication and interpretation & implementation of the management decisions of the hospital.

- Oversee major workforce and resource decisions for the Hospital. .

(B) Operational

Support Clinical Governance

- Ensure implementation of all strategic initiatives regarding medical services taken by Quality Council, Infection Control Committee, Waste Control Committee etc.

- Support the Medical Services in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the medical fraternity of the hospital.

- Support the Medical Services team in conducting and continuing professional education of the fraternity.

- Represent Medical Services Division in various committees outside the preview of the Hospital..

Operational Support

- Ensure along with Head of Operations & ancillary service departments seamless patient care.

- Ensure occurrence of timely Marketing interventions related to Medical Camps/CME's within the hospital as well as outside the Hospital.

- Ensure effective collaboration between clinical and non clinical departments to ensure an integrated approach to providing services and fulfilling the hospitals overall goals and objectives.

- Prepare the - Monthly Business Review Report- of the hospital and communicate the same to the Management.

Educational Qualification:

Essential: Post Graduate preferably MHA, MBA- Operations & Marketing

Preferable: MBBS with PG Degree in Hospital Management

Industry Preference: Hospital or Healthcare

A minimum experience of 20 years in hospital operations at the administrative leadership level.
