Job Title: Foundation Services Release Manager  - The Release Manager is responsible for the provision of the Release Management Service for Application and Infrastructure Change Lifecycle across Foundation Services. The scope of this service includes all application and infrastructure delivered into the foundation services service lines.  - The scope of the role covers managing the end to end path to production through Integration, Pre-Production and Production environments. Managing the scheduling of releases, ensuring due process is followed etc.  - The Release Manager is also responsible for Stakeholder Management, understanding the needs of the Business and Suppliers and managing expectations to agree and maintain achievable Release Plans.  Accountabilities and responsibilities:  The Foundation Services PMO and Finance Lead will be accountable for the following:  - The planning and management of application and infrastructure changes into major, minor and emergency releases, ready for testing and live deployment.  - The creation of the Release Policy Document describing the desired volume of content for major and minor releases and frequency of releases.  - The creation and stabilisation of processes and procedures to support the Release Management Service.  - The management of communications and expectations of customers and other stakeholders during the planning and rollout processes.  - The direction of dependent Change Approval governance processes to ensure proper approval prior to deployment into test and live.  - The direction of dependent Configuration Management governance processes to ensure proper population of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).  Relevant Experience:  - Minimum of 3 years experience in a release manager role  - IT Service Management experience in a large organisation with complex technologies; specifically experience in Release/Change/Configuration Management service provision areas (ideally to include experience of receiving service from an external provider)  - Project Management Lifecycle experience in a large organisation with complex technologies; specifically understanding of development and testing methodologies  Key Skills:  - Highly developed Release Planning skills across a complex Applications and Infrastructure environment.  - Proven track record of Stakeholder Management.  - Technically proficient; having a broad spectrum of technology knowledge (Windows, SQL databases, TCP/IP Networks and IT Security).  - Good understanding ITIL framework (ideally qualified to practitioner level in change/release)
