We are seeking well qualified, experienced candidates for an in-house legal counsel position. Primary responsibilities include preparing and negotiating agreements, conducting legal audits, legal research in support of the business organization and performing similar work with respect to vendor and service provider agreements for the procurement, technology and other departments in accordance with the instruction and direction of the Legal Head. This will necessitate working closely with categories, IT, Procurement, Finance, HR and Operations. The selected candidates shall report to the Legal Head and carry out all the activities assigned to him/her from time to time by the Legal Head. The Role's Primary Responsibilities Include : - Drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements such as Service, Subscription, Facility, Security, Engagement letters with Service Providers, Confidentiality agreements and other relevant legal documentation and subsequent amendments. - Review legal communications from customers, service providers, third parties and government agencies, and draft responses to same in consultation with the Legal Head; draft outgoing legal correspondence relating to enforcement of Sorting Hat contracts, intellectual property, and other rights with consultation with the Legal Head. - Review RFPs and RFQs, offering appropriate alternatives to contract terms and conditions. - Routine legal advice to business and operations units and conduct legal research on various topics. - Maintain Contract database along with the sending renewal reminders and processing any renewal request is so received. - Work on consumer complains, notices and any consumer related escalations. - Support the Legal Head in any other projects or legal research along with other colleagues as and when required Essential Experience : - The candidate must have at least 1 to 4 years of relevant experience (post qualification) in the contracts, documentation, legal research and litigation. - The incumbent should have strong experience in drafting, vetting, negotiating various contracts, and interpreting them. - The candidate should have some experience in Intellectual Property, mainly in trademark and copyright. Candidates with experience in IP shall be given preference. - Understanding of financial and commercial terms in Contracts. - Understanding important laws and statutes that have an impact on the business and organization's operations. - Court workings and litigation knowledge would be an added advantage The Role Requires Following Key Attributes : - Good written and oral communication skills - Excellent analytical and comprehension skills - Good academic track record - Ability to work with business teams displaying an understanding of the business requirements - Good in research and analysis - Good interpersonal skills - Willingness to work hard - Proactive and solution based approach - Ability to manage time efficiently - Self-starter who understands executing with urgency, and the ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment.
