MSME financing is a $380 Bn opportunity as per the World Bank. However, less than 10% of MSMEs have access to working capital loans from FIs and a majority of MSMEs receive invoice credit from their suppliers. A trade platform like udaan is uniquely positioned to formalize & scale trade credit.
Udaan Capital is bridging this gap by offering credit products for buyers and seller on and off the udaan platform.
About the role :
Being a digital platform, udaan generates a tremendous amount of data on an ongoing basis. As a Model Manager, you will be responsible for leveraging data to solve business problems from various spheres (example: underwriting, collections, sales etc.) of our credit program in a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment
Job Responsibilities :
- The ability to use advanced statistical, mathematical and modeling techniques to predict, validate or mitigate risks, enable growth of udaan Capital.
- Analytical articulation of a business or operations problem statement. Enhance existing analytic techniques by promoting new methodology and best practices in analytics
- Defining detailed analytic scope and methodology, and creating analytic plan
- Digging into data to unravel the complexity of the problem and identifying the broad contours of potential solution(s).
- Develop analytical solutions and strategies, models and setup model monitoring frameworks, estimate business impact through the model outcome
KRAs of the role :
- Building and propagating analytical solutions across udaan Capital, to be used in a self-service manner.
- Accurately predicting outcomes to enable growth of udaan credit through Risk and Non risk Modelling
- Rolling out solutions in partnership with business and operations teams.
- Hiring and mentoring the team members to deliver the identified projects.
Functional Competencies :
- Analytical thinking and quantitative aptitude: Demonstrate Analytical thinking, problem-solving attitude and a high level of comfort with numbers.
- Ability to utilize statistical models to meet business objectives
- Fetching and manipulating large data sets using SQL / Hive.
- Analyzing and visualizing large data sets: R / python.
- Decision making: Clearly articulate thinking around any problem and executes on decision making to deliver outcome.
- Attention to detail: High attention to detail with commitment to accuracy & completeness.
- Team and Stakeholder management: Ability to work successfully with multiple teams and stakeholders, manage disagreements maturely and align stakeholders. Ability to deliver outcomes through the team
- Communication skills: Excellent Communication - both verbal and written
